We ordered the Flemish beef stew and the waterzooi sea fish. The Flemish beef stew was amazing! They serve the fries out of this big metal bowl which was something different!

Our hostess recommended this place. It was after we sat at our table that we read the reviews on it. We were shocked and wanted to leave, but stayed as we could not be that rude. And it's good that we stayed! The food was very good, the service was quite adequate and the atmosphere is pleasant. Not a bad choice at all. The stew and the chicken were both great. Both served with tasty, large fries. Soup of the day was also good. Mussels were nothing special, but ok. Would definitely not skip. It's quite weird that there are so many bad reviews.

First class, we have eaten here 3 or 4 times and every time it has delivered the goods, I can only comment on the beef carbonnade (flemish stew) and the chips which are amazing and I challenge anyone to eat a second helping!, The beers here come in 750ml bottles and can be very strong so just take care.

In 2011, I thought this was the greatest stew in the world. In 2017, it's now become victim of over touristing. The staff is less friendly and more assembly line, the fries are no longer unlimited and "house bottled" (aka tap) water is 7€ per 500ml.

Food was very expensive for what they offered, the chips were perhaps fried 3 times and they were horrible, I had mussels and were okI could do better. My kids love meatballs and the meatballs they had ,tasted not like meat and the sauce was too bland even for my 5 year old, my other half loves food, but on this occasion he didn't even eat the full plate of overpriced beef stew. We asked for tap water and they brought a bottle water "bottled by them with tap water that came with a fly, inside ! They replaced the water and we still got charged for it. Perhaps there's a new chef but I won't think I was eating at the best restaurant in Brugge ! Nice place to be perhaps just to have a beer !

Loved the Beef Carbonnade and their asparagus dish. Good beers. Nice intimate setting with homey red checked table cloths and red accents.

We visited on 13 May at 9pm. I understand that it was a late reservation but they had run out of mussels - a dish that featured on their menu 4 times. Also the shrimp salad for €28.50 is laughably overpriced. We also asked for tap water with our beers and we're charged €4 for a bottle of water that said "bottled by De Vlaamsche Pot". We also ordered the waffle with ice cream and chocolate which was supposed to be €7.50 and we're charged for one waffle (€6) and one bowl of ice cream (€6.50). Overall the food was okay, nothing special.

A no brainer, their fish dishes are really good and their waffles with icecream, homemade chocolate and fresh whipped cream.I already can say that I love this place. Easy to say I can really recommend this place. From the minute your eyes lay on the entrance to their restaurant, to the moment you pay. Everything has been thought off, clean toilets, music at the perfect level volume, the clothing of the people working there 5/5 stars, we will come back to this place.

The restaurant is very cosy and the stuff is friendly. The menu includes Flemish specials. For a delicious three-course menu for dinner I paid 32 Euro. All three parts were fresh made and very big.

Hands down the best meal you will have in Bruges! Hearty Flemish food! We always go for the mussels or either beef/rabbit stew. The Freiten are the best you will have in town!! A bit speedy, but absolutely worth every cent!!
