We hadden geboekt en betaald, maar door plotselinge ziekte moesten we helaas annuleren en wilden graag een paar dagen later komen. Travelbird heeft geprobeerd dit te regelen bij het hotel, maar die wilde niets regelen, terwijl er nog genoeg kamers vrij waren.
Heel klant-onvriendelijk van ze en zeker niet zakelijk, zo ga je niet met klanten om. Verkeerde mentaliteit !response / report this review -

The location is nice, but there are some drawback's.
The highway is so close that it causes lots of noise, from the moment you open a window or when you walk outside.
Our room was situated above the kitchen, causing noise and when opening the window, the smell was entering the room.
Breakfast is OK, is you come early: when you come around 9 am, you risk to have only some left over's.
The bathroom needs some maintenance: worn hose and the spray nozzle of the shower is broken. The hairdryer work only partly: temperature can't be adjusted.
I expect more value for the spent money.response / report this review -

Nice classic castle like hotel. Very good dinner and breakfast. I understand the numerous Michelin-recommendations. Nice room. Very large sauna on reservation. The only minus is the bathtub / shower : you will have to hold the shower handle yourself (no wall mount)

De kamer was zeer proper en mooi ingericht, wel jammer dat we voor de prijs die we betaalden geen koelkastje of minibar op de kamer hadden.
's Avonds gingen we dineren in het restaurant, het eten is in 1 woord uitstekend. Echt fenomenaal lekker!!
Helaas werd de excellentie van het eten overschaduwd door een verschrikkelijke ruzie onder het personeel die avond.
Toen we in onze kamer wat aan het rusten waren rond 21u begon een dame luidruchtig te roepen in de gangen.
Eerst dachten we dat het één van de gasten was, maar toen we gingen kijken zagen we dat het 2 stafleden waren.
De ruzie werd steeds luider en luider. Uiteindelijk vroegen we hen dan beleefd om wat stiller te zijn, zodat we konden slapen. Een harde snauw "Oui!" was het antwoord
Na een kort momentje stilte, begon de ruzie opnieuw
Uiteindelijk hebben we pas rond 24u30 kunnen slapen!!
Toen we de volgende ochtend onze kamer verlieten en aan de receptie onze sleutel ingaven, waren diezelfde personen terug luidruchtig ruzie aan het maken!!
Zo'n onbeschoft, luidruchtig personeel hebben we nog nooit meegemaakt!!
Dit hotel zouden we nooit of te nimmer nooit aan iemand aanraden!response / report this review -

Wonderful surprise that we came upon by accident driving to Luxembourg from Waterloo.
Grounds are immaculate and rural - with views over the river to the countryside by walking less than a minute from dinner - which was served outside. We had the 3 course prix fixe (5 was also on offer), which was excellent. The owner helpfully suggested a really nice, inexpensive Alsatian Pinot Gris (there was a wine suggestion with the menu but I wanted to have a wine of the region instead).
The service by the owner was really impeccable. He accommodated my wife (who will not eat steak tartare) and my kids as well who he got special dishes for. We were not dressed for the occasion - after a long day tramping about the hot battlefield, but he was gracious enough to overlook it. He took some time to explain the history of the place which was adjacent to royal hunting grounds, accommodating my halting French and making his problem when I got it wrong, helping with English when he could.
Overall a truly memorable evening in the lingering twilight. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. What more can you ask for?
The chateau looked really nice as a place to stay - I think they have weekend packages including meals and rooms which looked like a good value.
