This is the oldest bar in Bruges and its pretty cool. It looks pretty bar like inside- a standard round wooden room- and it gets pretty crowded in the evenings. But they do have an outdoor space and a huge garden as well and I went to sit there. the servers speak some english, which is nice and they are helpful when it comes to making recommendations but bewarned that the food fare is a little limited. The drinks are fantastic though, and they have a lot of beers to choose from.

They also have a cute dog that doesn't let you pet him but stands on his hind legs and looks at your table for the food he knows is there. He also will eat out of your hands if you choose to feed him (I did). I think he makes a good addition to the place.

The oldest cafe in Brugge, and well worth a visit. Their house beer is good, and they have a selection of beers, hot and cold drinks, small plates, appetizers, and desserts. There’s a nice ambiance while sitting in the large rear courtyard. People of all ages and locals were drinking and playing outdoor games. Recommended.

Great service, food and drink. You can eat indoors or out, with a large, sheltered sun trap out the back, with plenty of seating. You can eat, or just have a drink. A very nice place.

Beautiful ancient bar that is off the besten path. Lovely old wood, friendly staff, three beers on tap, large garden terrace for outdoor seating in the rear. Only issue for me is the incessant flow of tour groups and other tourists that kill the atmosphere.

The historic pub of Bruges since 1515. Their own made beer is very nice, fish soup as well.
It's 10 mins away from Markt Square and for this reason, the place is very quiet (not so many tourists)

It's very exciting to think you're having lunch in a place that opened in 1515 and has always been a pub! Food is good, prices are alright, the place is comfortable and full of details to observe!

Don't be put off by the small frontage on the street. The bar is quite large and opens on to an even larger open air terrace. The menu is limited but of good quality and the prices are reasonable for Bruges. It's definitely a good bet if you've been exploring the sights on the area.

At the the back of this old pub was a welcome beer garden, perfect on a sunny summer's day. As a bonus for the kids there were board games to play and a bowling pitch. Their own brew was very nice. It was a lovely afternoon and good way to spend family time.

Great little pub down a side street. Good atmosphere and prices. Friendly staff. Oldest pub in Bruges dating back from 1515. Quite small so might not get a seat inside depending when you go, but well worth a visit! Just be careful of the steep stairs on your way out after having a drink!

Named as the oldest bar in bruges. Serves good Belgian beers and pub food. Disappointed I didn't have the weather to try out Belgian bowls that you borrow from the bar to use in the rear garden. A nice break away from the busy centre of town.

Amazing bar. The oldest one in Bruges. And you can really see that. The interior is still from 1869!
Waiting staff is really nice here as well and the beer prices more than fair (a tour guide once told me beers are 20 cent more expensive so they can maintain the building, but compared to bars in the city center they're actually 20 cents cheaper).

Very cosy place. Not room for a lot of people, but that is the price to pay for a 500 year old establishment. The beer is great, service is excellent, and you're more than likely to bump into some very friendly locals.
