The restaurant has that vibrant atmosphere and personnel is generally kind.
The Flemish stew was not one of the best I tasted: it was not bad by any means but the meat was a too dry. The meal was also served way too fast: as much as I don't appreciate waiting for ever, no wait at all doesn't convey a genuine feeling.
The beer I had with that stew, however, was excellent: after all that's the main reason you come here for, right?
Regarding dessert I ended up getting the single malt whiskey tiramisù (two previous dessert picks of mine were reported as not available, which is quite a bummer): I have to agree with previous reviews saying the single malt whiskey can't be tasted at all. Again, the dessert was good but if you want to market it that way, you need to make sure a subtle whiskey flavor can be tasted otherwise it feels like a rip off.

Tour ticket costs €8 inclusive of 2 types of beer tasting - classic and tripel. The guide speaks in Dutch and translates it in English, so it takes longer than usual. You can see the actual brewing machinery except the bottling process because it is done on a different location. In my opinion, the dark beer is really good so it is worth a visit. They also have a restaurant, bar and hotel in this location.

Very interesting guided tour with beer tasting afterward. The restaurant does not make you say 'wow'. It's all about beer after all Gouden Carolus is nice. You should try ;-)

The restaurant served delicious food and the beer was amazing. I think they served beers that could suit almost anyone. I am not a fan of beer and even I found one that I liked. I would have given it a five but it was so hot inside that it was almost hard to enjoy the atmosphere and food. I don't know if they have AC or not. Many guest were fanning themselves. The restaurant also offers tours and has a gift shop where you can purchase any beer from the menu.

Rooms are dated, reception gets the job done, but no friendliness. The food was good and the beers were great. So for a one nighter, perfect

About the restaurant: ate kangeroo (price around 24,50€) and dessert tiramisu with whiskey in it (price 9,50€). Kangeroo can't be found in many places so I was happy to see this on the menu. I was kinda shocked that they dear to ask a surcharge of 1€ for mayonnaise and 0,5€ for ketchup.
About the dessertthere was suppose to be single malt whiskey in it although none of the 4 ppl who ordered it tasted any if the whiskey so again disappointment.
One of the waiters was very rude to my colleague when he said that he wanted frites (only possible with surcharge) instead of the crockets. We were there with 12 ppl and spend like 540€ it's those little annoying things which pisses ppl off. To bad!

One of the best artisanal brewery in Flanders. I had the guided tour and it is very interesting. The final test of a blonde and a dark beer is the best way to taste this mighty product.
