In my top 3 restaurants in Brugge. Amazing food, plenty of little bonuses, friendly service, good beer and quite frankly a very charming little restaurant right in the historical center.
    Will most definitely go back.

Took hours for the food to arrive. Only when we asked for it, it was served. The soup was of the other kind than was asked for and it wasn't clarified (and appoligized for) until after we ate it. Overall our worst experience in a restaurant in Belgium.

Place was almost empty so we asked to sit in the window rather than directly next to an occupied table that we'd been waved towards. Were refused because "it's for 4" and we were only 2 people. Plenty of other large tables available. Happy to take our money elsewhere. Obviously customers aren't a priority.

    Nice service.
    Basic menu.
Tried fillet mignon and mussels on Aug 201: 3 people 100 euros with dessert.
    Good option to lunch

We all enjoyed our meal. The meat was well cooked (but a little too salty) and the fries good too. The salmon was delicious, and the goat salad was generous and good.
    The staff was friendly.

Lovely ambiance, good food and very friendly staff. And, that at a very reasonable price.

We enjoyed a menu with a 'bubbles' and beer tasting to go with it, which was a lovely match. For the main course I went for the lamb and my partner picked the salmon. The lamb was absolutely brilliant. The accompanying gratin was delicious and the vegetables were abundant (which in itself seems quite rare in restaurants nowadays). The salmon was good and the sauce (white-wine sauce) was particularly nice. The staff was very friendly, and the quantity of food was abundant. When I asked if I could take the leftovers with me (I was absolutely stuffed after both the food and the beers), that was no problem whatsoever. We thoroughly enjoyed our first night in Bruges at Den Huzaar.

We paid approx. 80 euros for one full menu, one main dish and the mentioned drinks, which was absolutely sufficient in quantity for us (one big- and one medium-amount eater).

Good (comfort) food at a good (touristic) location.

Over the last nine years this was our fourth Christmas Day meal at Bistro den Huzaar.
    A lot has changed
    1. New owners
    2. Instead of 1 seating people can come at any time.
We were a little dubious about what we would find especially after reading some of the reviews. However everyone in our party (8) thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the service and atmosphere.
The cost was similar to other restaurants we have visited over the years and we will return.

Really nice ambience, with great music and a cosy atmosphere. However, relative to the price, the quality of the food was pretty averageexcellent location may be to blame. Very attentive and welcoming staff!

Initial experience started with a very flustered waiter, we had to sit on a large table, that would be shared with other diners, although we did not mind as we did not have a reservation. The smell from the restaurant is one of the best things I have encountered. Our waiter was very attentive and polite and spoke perfect English, which was very helpful. I ordered a steak which was unfortunately over cooked but the overal food and service was great. I would recommend giving the place a try.
