Once when I studied in the University of Rajshahi, I went to visit Uttara Gonovobon but at that time without written permission of Distraction Administration no one can enter into the place. Now, you can visit the historic place without prior permission except some restricted places.
A grand clock tower will welcome you. I came to know that two different size and weight stones are the important parts of the chime clock mechanism. However, the information regarding the clock is not verified.
While crossing a bridge (it is said that once the bridge was a draw bridge) you will enter into the main structure. The whole structure is surrounded by a lake. The draw bridge was only way to communicate. The place had renovated recently. Though the authority tried to keep intact the antique atmosphere, I think they are not successful.
They tried to make the place as a amusement centre. They put cages where deer and monkeys are found. I’m not historian but I find no where that there were animals inside the structure.

Excellent place to roam around and to see some aristocratic work from old Bengal King. It was built for as a king home now it is used as a living place for president and prime minister of Bangladesh. It has a very big area with beautiful arrangement of buildings. You have to buy tickets to enter in this place. They closes early evening at 3:30 pm. So don't go after that time.

So finesse! If anybody can access the inside of the aristocratic and kingly house, he or she must be mesmerized. I was mesmerized be the level of taste the Zamindar or the king had then. I discovered a bath tub of white stone collected from Italy that took around 60 people to move which is kept in the Collection and Museum like centre. A luxury that people like us can no way afford! Loved it!

The Uttara Ganabhaban (meaning Northern People's House) is an 18th-century (1734) a royal palace also known as Jaminder country house and retreat, it was made by Raja Doyaram who was the Dewan (like minister) of Rani Bhavanee. It has a round clock on its front gate with a large bell & a clock room. The clock was brought from Italy. It also has a beautiful garden full of various foreign trees and Italian marvel stone statue of women. It is also known as Dighapatia Rajbari. It is located near Natore town of Natore in North Bengal.[citation needed] It serves as the principal residence of the Bangladeshi Prime Minister in the northern part of the country. It was formerly the seat of the Dighapatia Raj- an aristocratic landed estate in the Bengal Presidency of the British Raj. It has been used as a ceremonial site for receiving foreign ambassadors.

A beautiful place. Specially the inner view of Rajbari. Not everyone can enter the Rajbari. But because of my abbu I witnessed that inner view. And seeing a restricted (not for all- only some are allowed) place is a lot more fun.😊

Excellently preserved colonial buildings that reflect the architectural heritage of the British Raj in Bangladesh. It has a wonderful renaissance garden which has a few plantations left from the period. The exhibit area is under renovation and to be opened very soon. A must visit place.

Visited several times. its a very nice and natural place for every level people specially kids and learner . Government directly monitoring this place and his historical sign and precious assets. Front side of this place are open for every persons and remember should buy a ticket before entry. Main building are very much restricted due to dedicated for PM and parliament member. If you want to visit inside of main building then must have permission of local government or maintenance authority and have to take it before your visit. You can see very old and precious assets and furniture inside this main UTTORA GONO-VABAN. At first reach at Madrasha mor of Nator then take rent an auto rickshaw or rickshaw and go to this place. You can ask any local people regarding this place.
