Newly listed this University as a university in our country by the name Barishal University. As a new University this University became famous for it's educational performers. This University is highly decorated with students Hall, playground, mosque, multistage class room and many more. This University location is also very natural environment beside the river kirtonkhola. It's beauty attacked all the nearly people of Barishal. The declaration for establishing a Public University in the then Barisal division was made by the Founder of Bangladesh, the Father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1973. Several half-hearted attempts were made by the different political governments after 1980s but it was in 2009 that the establishment of the University got meaningfully underway by the Ministry of Education, and the Honorable President of the Peopleâ€™s Republic of Bangladesh Md. Zillur Rahman appointed Professor Dr. Md. Harunor Rashid Khan of the Department of Soil, Water and Environment of the University of Dhaka on 18th February 2010 as the Project Director to establish the University of Barisal. The law of the University of Barisal has been amended and passed by the National Assembly of Bangladesh on 16th June 2010. Thanks to further initiatives from University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education, the University was eventually established by the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through foundation stone laying on 22nd February 2011.

Barisal University is the only public university in Barisal. It’s a nice university with quality education. After many attempts were made by the different political governments and it come to true in 2009. It’s surrounded by a vast open space. It has different dormitory for male and female students. Open field, Shahid Minar, Teachers place, Mosque etc. It’s flourishing in education since it was established. New department is being created for more and more students. It’s very nice to see in the evening and early morning. Sun rising and sun set attract me to come here again. It’s a structurally beautiful university. If did not go to the university you can visit it. Though when you come to it it seems a lonely place but It’s really a nice university with beautiful surroundings.

Barisal university is situated on the bank of the river Kirtonkhola.It has 18 department. The environment of the university is unique.Most of the students are from the southern Bangladesh. The university of Barisal was the cherished dream of Sheikh Mujibor Rahman.Prime minester Sheikh Hasina make his dream true and built this university in 2011.It has 2 academic building,1 administrative buildings and 3 hall for students.

It's the highest educational institution in South Bangladesh. Though it's a new University it has young and talented teachers & meritorious students..
If you somehow stopped by Barisal District you must see the beauty of it's campus
