In 2008, Before 9th Parliamentary Election of Bangladesh, Prime Leader of Bangladesh Awami League and nation's former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina promised the people of Tangail to establish a Government financed medical school in Tangail city. As her party continued to rule as Government of Bangladesh for 2nd consecutive time in 2014, a decision was taken in August 2014 by the government to start Tangail Medical College alongside five other new medical colleges (Jamalpur Medical College, Manikganj Medical College, Shaheed M. Monsur Ali Medical College, Patuakhali Medical College, Rangamati Medical College). TMC is the 24th public medical college of Bangladesh.

It was in 2013 when I first time visited Tangail and it was the time before my son's birth..I get admitted into the hospital..because I couldn't trust other local clinics.. I must say before moving into cabin, it was horrible..though local peoples around me were very helpful and kind..some doctors were experienced and caring..therefore I was saved.. but stuffs and workers are very bad and continuously charge money..& the rest, you know !! how it feels in govt. hospitals..

Tangail medical college and Hospital is developing now.
Now, this medical college name is 'Sheikh Hasina Medical College'.
This college situated central of tangail districk.
This hospital is quick and clean.Medical assisstant training course (mats) and nursing institude with this medical college.mats students and medical students can be done their internship in this hospital.
