St. John's Church is the catholic church, located in Tumilia , Kaligonj, Gazipur. The church is on the high way of tongi-kaligonj-norsindhi highway.

The church name is in the name of St. John the baptist and he is the patron Saint of the church. Tumilia church is the biggest church in Dhaka Archdiocese.

There are many villages under tumilia church and among them Daripara already being separated and made new church in daripara. Most of the village people used to work as farmer. Now the new generation is becoming educated and spreading them in the different sector of the country as well settled in different country of Europe.

There are schools, college and cooperative union within the area of St. John's church.

Direction for the visitors from DHAKA:
Anyone one can come from dhaka to visit St. John's church in different ways, option-1: from tongi station road direct tumilia St. John's Church, option-2: from Abdullahpur via ulukhola bazar and nagori and Option-3: 300 ft road then dhaka city bypass via Panjora and Nagori.

While passing through the Mission bus stop, certainly you can a look at this church through window of your bus. But if you are determined to travel this place then you can go ahead. This Church was built in the year 1844. It's one of the biggest Catholic Church in this region. Christian people of Tumolia and nearby villages come here to pray for their well being. There is a cemetery just beside the Church building.
The interiors and exteriors of this Church is decorated with different design. Which is really beautiful to observe.

The new church is beautiful, has lots of space and it's interiors are quite decorated. Nothing fancy though and the entire place is very quiet, which is great for those who pray.
