Sonargaon University (SU) is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Government (GoB), which has been sponsored by Sonargaon University (SU) Trust. The Trust is registered, non-political, non-profit voluntary organization. The members of SU Trust are mostly eminent entrepreneur from academic arena, felt the need for a private university to bring quality education within the reach of students with modest economic means.
The quality of our teaching and learning is underpinned by the best staff: student ratios. Our professors teach at every level as well as are engaged in ground-breaking research. Our work is audited regularly by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and we have been supported by a strong Academic Advisory Council.
Sonargaon University (SU) is always changing and growing. More than 3000 (Three Thousand) students enrolled at SU since its commencement from 2013. We have interest in the things that matter to our students, such as, IT facilities, 12 hour library facility, and a network for students “hubs” for academic support. Sonargaon University is an undertaking of Sonargaon University Trust which is also approved by UGC. Basically it provides Graduation & Post Graduation education. But, it is now a days popular for Technical Education such as Engineering. They also offer Undergraduate programs. Most of its Faculties are Highly educated. But, there is a bad rumour in the market regarding quality of education.

SU is one of the fastest growing private universities in Bangladesh. It started in late 2012 but already has lots of students in just a few years. The quality of education is good enough.
However, The campus is very inadequate for the number of students reading here. This university has a permanent campus location proposed at aftabnagar. Hope that will be prepared soon.

Background of the Establishment of the University:
Sonargaon University (SU) is an idyllic institution for higher education where thousands of students are attaining unbound opportunities to illumine themselves through the resplendence of knowledge and science. From the far-sighted and profound cogitation a group ofself-confident entrepreneurs who had already been recognized and eulogized for their role in the field of education, came forward and sensed the necessities of leadership in the arena of the emergent industry and economy of the world. Their magnanimous dream came true on 18 November 2012. A large number of the luminous academicians mastered at home and abroad have already joined the University. Modern laboratories, links with domestic and foreign businesses and research institutions are the unique features of Sonargaon University. Contemporary and diversified Faculty, Departments, Programs, and subjects keep the quality of the University up.
Sonargaon University was established in the year 2012, with a view to meeting the up-and-coming demands, reducing unemployment and creating competent leadership through the job oriented education.
