  The hospital has been dedicated to the public for the treatment of dengue. The amount that has to be spent in a government hospital is not what we really want. Although the government hospital has a system to test the patient's sample, the doctors recommend it from outside. This is not desirable at all for us normal patients.

  One of the oldest public hospitals in the city as well in the country also. The old hospital and it's buildings are as old as it it. All the medical services bare available here at a very reasonable price. Service is not satisfactory, not clean environment. Always busy hospital meets a huge pressure of patients everyday. Wish a the best

  It requires 3/4 hours to give sample for Covid-19 test here. Patient have to wait in four different line one of which is under sun for this. Very bad service.

  This hospital is known for its modern, yet affordable facilities,Latest medical equipments and technologies.
  As a result of all these well known facts, People are gathering here from the neighboring cities, villages travel to get high class treatment in this hospital.That's way I'm very much satisfied with their facilities....

  Sir Salimullah Medical College is a government medical college in Bangladesh. It is located in the old part of the capital, Dhaka.It is affiliated with the University of Dhaka. Mitford Hospital is the first and Sir Salimullah Medical College is the best medical college of Bangladesh.
  Mitford Hospital Started its journey on 1st May,1858. This was the frist general Hospital of the eastern part of undivided British ruled Bengal. Mitford Hospital is named after Sir Robert Mitford, Collector of Dhaka and a longserving judge of the Provincial Court of Appeal.
  On 1st July 1875, Dhaka Medical School Started its Journey. On the 2nd April 1887, foundation stone. On 1st July 1875, Dhaka Medical School Started its Journey. On the 2nd April 1887, foundation stone of new school building was laid W.R Larminie Commissioner Dhaka Division. It was opened by Sir SC Bayley, Lt Governor of Bengal on 22nd September 1889. In 1903, Nawab Sir Salimullah donated money to establish, maternity and female eye word. Dhaka Medical School was changed to Medical College in 1962 and it was named Mitford Medical College. In 1963 the college was named after Nawab Sir Salimullah(1871-1915) "Sir Salimullah Medical College" to acknowledge the contributions of the Nawabs. During 1963-1972 condensed courses for MBBS degree was offered. In 1972 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Father of the Nation, Upgraded it as a full-fledge medical college and the first batch student of MBBS degree enrolled in 1973.

Sir Salimullah Medical College includes Mitford Hospital, one of the oldest hospitals in Bangladesh. It is located at Mitford Road, Babubazar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 1972 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Father of the Nation, Upgraded it as a full-fledge medical college and the first batch student of MBBS degree enrolled in 1973.

  The Oldest & best public Hospital in Old Dhaka, it is a well-known government hospital in Bangladesh. The hospital has emergency, outdoor, coronary, dental, orthopedic, urology, caridiac etc various services. There are some reputed doctors on duty always. Overall, this is one of the great hospital in th country.

  Sir Salimullah Medical College ranked as one of the most prestigious medical colleges of South Asia. It was established in 1875 as Dhaka Medical School in the old part of the Capital city, Dhaka. Mitford hospital was a part of the school. Sixteen local kings and philanthropists helped in erecting the medical school building in 1889. The school was made a medical college in 1962. To acknowledge the contributions of the Nawabs, the college was named after Nawab Sir Salimullah (1871–1915). Until 1957 License of Medical Faculty (LMF) degree was offered from this college. During 1963–1972 condensed courses for MBBS degree was offered. In 1972 it was upgraded as a full-fledged medical college and the first batch students for MBBS degree enrolled in 1973. The civil surgeon of Dhaka was in charge of both the college and the hospital until 1974, when a principal and a superintendent were appointed for the above institutions. The superintendent was later (1984) made the director of the hospital.

  Good quality treatments & education. It is the oldest medical facility of Bangladesh which was established on 01 May, 1857 by Robert Mitford. Medical college was established on 1972. Educational environment is very good. But the surrounding environment is too much crowdy.

  Yes it is a Very good place. And it's environment was awesome. Poor people can easily get treatment here for only a few cost.

  Where is it open & close dates ?
  Another thing is that there's word person ( I have experienced) want money illegally( ghush) for public medicine, from the victim( rogi/ patient) who's prescribed by the doctor.
  And alos serial breaking, they do for money from another patient.

  The hospital, originally named after the philanthropist Robert Mitford of the civil service, who served many years in Dhaka as collector and later, as judge of the Provincial Court of Appeal, was the most important medical institution, not only in Dhaka, but in the whole of Eastern Bengal and Assam in the mid-19th century. Robert Mitford died in Europe in 1836, but before his death he bequeathed the bulk of his property (about eight lakh rupees) to the Government of Bengal for public works in Dhaka. This was, however, disputed by his successors in England and finally the Chancery Court partially decreed in favor of the Bengal Government in 1850. With Mitford's benevolent gift, the construction of this hospital was started in 1854 on its present site, which was then known as Babu Bazar. Prior to this, the site was earlier occupied by a Dutch kuthi.

  2nd best medical college in Bangladesh. And their hospital has good facilities including ICU, NICU, CCU and other general indoor wards and outdoor services. They have their own pathological labs too.
