Traditional market of Dhaka City. You can buy your everyday grocery, Fish, meat & poultry at this place. Almost all shops prices are not fixed, you have to bargain with the shopkeepers. Not clean enough.

Only one Bazar in this whole area.
Customers are more than commodity, so prices are higher than other bazars. One need to be a good bargainer. Morning products are fresh.

It is one of the oldest bazar of Dhaka city. One can buy almost all of the necessaries of every day life from here. This market is famous for fresh fish, vegetables, fruits, groceries and domestic necessities. Goods quality is normally good but the buyer should be a bit cautious. Bargaining is required. Location is good, but there is lack of cleanliness.

Shantinagar Bazar was built in 1975. It’s a historical and traditional market in Dhaka City. Shantinagar Bazar is the most popular name to the people. There are 550 shops in the Bazaar. Vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, grocery items, stationary items and all kinds of daily needs are sold in this market. Beside these items, hardware, crockery, cosmetic, readymade garments, tailors, metallic products, gifts and many other necessary products are sold. Everyday this bazaar starts at 7:00 AM and closes at 9:00 PM.

Most of the sellers try to sell at higher than normal price. The sellers have ethics problem. You can not expect to get good quality items unless you check it by yourself. Good thing is that you can find all the household items, crokeries, foods, fishes, meats, vegetables etc. Cloths are not sold here.

All kinds of fresh vegetables, fishes and other things come to Shantinagar Bazar from villages, meaning the commodities of this bazaar are always fresh, tasty and in demand. There are 550 shops in the Bazaar. Vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, grocery items, stationary items and all kinds of daily needs are sold in this market. Beside these items, hardware, crockery, cosmetic, readymade garments, tailors, metallic products, gifts and many other necessary products are sold.

A beautiful mosque was built in 1971 beside this bazaar. In addition many small restaurants, tea-stalls, pan-cigarette shops and hawkers are found in this area. Everyday this bazaar starts at 7:00 AM and closes at 9:00 PM. The Dhaka City Corporation has a plan to develop the site with a multistory building.

This place is crowded with people alltime because of its available groceries items, fishes, chickens, ayurvedic items, restaurant with cheap priced and many more. Even salons, electronics repairs shops, mobile recharge shops are available.
