It is located in a busy place just adjacent to jamia rahmania. The most is unique and the decorations are also good. But the space is very scanty and the people face immense difficulty to say their prayers. There are ample space outside the mosque for the expansion but the authority don't take any step in the name of preserving the Heritage.

English: Bangladesh has three world heritage sites. The Shat Gombuj Mosque in Bagerhat is one of them. It is a 15th century Islamic edifice situated in the suburbs of Bagerhat (a district in Khulna Division), on the edge of the Sundarbans, some 175 km south west of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

It is an enormous Moghol architectural site covering area 160×108 square feet. The mosque is unique in that, it has sixty pillars, which support eighty one exquisitely curved domes that have worn away with the passage of time. The structure of the building also represents the 15th century Turki architectural view. It is anticipated that before 1459 a greatest devotee of Islam named Khan Jahan Ali established this mosque. He was also the founder of Bagerhat district.

It is a fine example of the provincial Mugal style of architecture introduced in Bangladesh in the 17 century. The mosque's notable features are it's seven bulbous domes crowning the roof and covering the main prayer hall.Probably erected by Governor Shahist Khan, the monument stands in a romantic setting on a buttressed 15 foot high bank overlooking an extensive flood plain.

Due to the seven dome of the Mosque, it is called "Seven Domed Mosque". The seven domes contain three large domes and four small domes.The length of the mosque is 17.68 meters and the width is 8.23 meters. There is a small garden in front of the Mosque. It looks great from far away to see the Mosque.

Like in and around many other heritage structures all over the country, the premises of Sat Gambuj Mosque is occupied by religious groups building illegal structures and extensions to the listed building, ignoring its heritage value that they abuse, building codes and rules, fiercely protecting their possessions.Unfortunately, few travelers see Sat Gambuj Mosque because of its somewhat remote location.

This 'world heritage' is situated at Bagerhat District and can easily be accessed from Khulna City. The compound is beautiful, filled with trees and flowers; very peaceful. The compound has a small museum which is currently under renovation, so access is temporarily restricted. Just behind the mosque, there is a wonderful lake. Seat for a while and relax.The compound had clean restrooms for both Male & Female. Most importantly one can pray inside the mosque.Another 15th century mosque, 'Singair Mosque' is just at opposite side of the road. An interesting fact is that this mosque has 72 gumbad instead of 60 but it has 60 pillars inside!

Shat Mosjid Road is a long road in the western part of Dhaka connecting Mohammadpur and Mirpur Road near science laboratory. The road runs through Dhanmondi. It was named after one of the aesthetic archaeological mosques of Bangladesh called Shat Mosjid situated at Mohammadpur. It is one of the major roads of Dhanmondi thana and prominent for housing many banks, restaurants, universities and colleges, apartment blocks, offices and other institutions.
