If you ever visit Ramu, you should visit this temple first. The CNG or auto driver will not want to take you there but tell them that you want to visit that first anyhow.
Local name of this temple is Rankut.

Ramu, Coxs Bazar is a village with an excellent charm of its own which is spread here in the form of monasteries, temples and various Buddhist Mondir. various monasteries and Buddhist temples where you would see statues and images of Buddha in gold, bronze and various other metals and studded with precious stones.

Its a place of historical interest. Many ancient buddhist relics of the time of Shamrat Ashoka are stored over here.
It is an important and holy place for Buddhist. There is an Orphanage beside this which is run by an cristian father.
You can get here from the near by station called Chowmohoni by rickshaw or electric tricycle.

    buddist temple
Ramkut is situated in the Rajarkul union of Ramu Pourashova, four kilometers south of Ramu-Chowmohony Bus station. Ramu itself has the largest (27) number of Buddhist temples in Bangladesh. Ptolemy marked Ramu on his map in the 2nd century. Ramu is, probably, one of the most ancient cities in the lands that, once dominated by, amongst others, Portuguese, Burmese, Arakanese, Tripurans and British, are now a significant part of Bangladesh. Claiming at least one Buddhist Temple said to have been founded by the third century BC, Emperor Ashoka, alongside another, Hindu Temple, claiming foundation in 2,800 BCE, the first tangible clue to its heritage is probably the city called Ramcu.
