This bar sucks, but it's pretty much the only cheap option for alcohol in Chittagong. Go with someone who has been there before, if you can, because it's not easy to find. It's possible to get more expensive alcohol mainly at the larger international hotels (Agrabad, Peninsula, Radisson) and the private clubs (Chittagong Club Ltd., Chittagong Seniors' Club, Chittagong Boat Club, Bhatiary Golf & Country Club). That leaves the cheaper and very dingy Railway Mens' Bar located near the train station. My advice is leave Bangladesh if you actually enjoy a nice glass of beer or wine with your dinner!

Typical South Asian bar. Hidden, dark, filthy, curtains in the windows caked with grease and smoke, nothing but men (why don't South Asian men like to drink with women? it makes it so much more fun.) . hasn't been cleaned in decades. Loved it! but these people here saying it is only for railway workers are on meth. anyone can go there. i've seen rickshaw pullers, upper middle class teenagers, middle class men. foreign women are welcome. The Hunter beer is misery in a can, but it's all you can get. They have foreign liquor, but the prices are insane. the food is absolutely nauseating.
