It was a good place when our film industry was in it’s golden period. Now it’s like a chicken farm inside. Bad environment, sitting arrangement is very poor and projection quality is very poor.

The days of silver screen in Bangladesh are long gone. The low quality of local movies and the advancement of technology have killed the movie industry in Bangladesh. Most of the movie halls have been converted in to markets or food courts. So a small percentage of them exist till the date and Purobi Cinema Hall is one of them. Located at a convenient location this theatre was once a prominent landmark in Mirpur. People still know the name but the glorious days are over.

I assume the theatre is still not family-friendly and educated people would rather go to Bashundhara City Cineplex rather than visiting this theatre. Shame! we had once some really talented filmmakers and now the industry makes movie for a certain class only and this certain class is mostly uneducated.

one of the old cinema hall in Mirpur.
Its cinema hall near Mirpur - 11 .Not well facilitated and not suitable for all age groups .only people with lower income tend to come here .Here you may not enjoy quality movies with family and friends.
environment is not good . but it's a well know landmark ..

Ideal for instant google search. Once you have a visit there, you will surely find the country a peaceful and clean place to live in after you get out

Its a very remembered place from my childhood when the Bangla cinema was in it's pick. But in recent visit my experience was horrible. The ticket price is very economical . For rare stall 35 take and for DC is is 45 per show. The sound and visual is so so but can serve the purpose. The cinema hall needs a full reconstruction. The entry is shabby and poor in form. May be sometimes ago the hall was a glory for Mirpur but now it is a scaliton of past history. The bench in the auditorium is almost broken , rare and DC stalls are just only name, there is no difference. The overall environment in the hall is not up to the mark. Noise waste of food and sometimes cigarettes are blown in the hall. The presence of females are very very few in numbers. The staffs are all above 50 years of age . The food corner is not also up to the marks , only few types of chips and fast foods are available.

1st of all it's a local cinema hall to enjoy local films that's why it's not perfect for all classes people. so if you want to come hear to watch film then you have to check what movie is showing. But some time they play some reputed movie. like "Monpura" "Aynabaji"
    Thanks A Ton

Purbabi Cinema Hall. This movie hall was built in Mirpur, capital city 35 years ago. Even today it is going on, but by opening it up, which means to survive. This movie in the capital is a well known and famous movie hall. In addition to the permanent resident of Dhaka City, many of the people are familiar with the name of the movie hall.

Purobi Cinema Hall: When i saw this cinema hall i go back to 17 years when i was skipping collage class for watching movie of reaz-shabnoor. Cinema hall is nostalgic materials for everyone - i think. But day after day the traditional cinema hall are destroying because of low quality movies in Bangladesh.
