নবাব সিরাজউদ্দৌলা রোডে অবস্থিত বলে মসজিদ-ই-সিরাজউদ্দৌলা, মাস্টার হাজী আবদুল হামিদ নির্মাণ করেছিলেন বলে হামিদিয়া তাজ মসজিদ এবং চন্দনপুরা এলাকায় প্রতিষ্ঠিত বলে সহজেই চন্দনপুরা জামে মসজিদ হিসেবে ব্যাপকভাবে পরিচিত; জাপানের ট্যুরস এন্ড ট্রাভেল ম্যাগাজিনের প্রচ্ছদে কিংবা দেশের পাঠ্যবইতে জায়গা করে নেওয়া এই মসজিদটি। মোগলাই কারুকাজ শোভা পেলেও মসজিদটি পঞ্চাশের দশকের শুরুতে তৎকালীন চার লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে তৈরী হয়েছিল বলে জানা যায় । পরবর্তীতে আরেক দফা সংস্কার করা হয়েছিল উনিশ শো সাতান্ন সালের দিকে। শোনা যায়, পনেরোটা গম্বুজের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে বড় গম্বুজটি দশ টন পিতল দিয়ে তৈরী হয়েছিল। বর্তমানে পিতলের উপর কয়েক রকম রঙের ডোরাকাটা প্রলেপ রয়েছে। সাম্প্রতিক কালের সংস্কার কাজে জানালা-দরজার গ্রীল ছাড়াও "জোড়াতালির সৌন্দর্য" এলুমিনিয়াম-গ্লাসের সংযোজনতো রয়েছেই। তবুও এমন জাঁকালো নকশা আর রঙের সমন্বয়ে তৈরী সদর রাস্তা ঘেঁষে দাঁড়ানো চট্টগ্রামের এই মসজিদটি চলাচলের সময় কারো প্রথম নজরে পড়লে এর সৌন্দর্য উপেক্ষা করে যাওয়া কঠিন।

মসজিদে সিরাজউদ্দৌলা:
অনেকে এই মসজিদ কে চন্দনপুরা মসজিদ বলে থাকলেও এর নাম মসজিদে সিরাজউদ্দৌলা।তবে রিকশাচালক কে চন্দনপুরা বললে সহজে চিনবে।অলি খা মসজিদ থেকে রিকশায় ২৫ থেকে ৩০ টাকা নিবে এই মসজিদ পর্যন্ত।এটি সিরাজউদ্দৌলার শাসনকালে তৈরী মসজিদ,যার সৌন্দর্য এবং কারুকাজ কারিগরদের নৈপুন্যতার কথা মনে করিয়ে দিবে।response / report this review -

Very old and historical mosque standing with lots of memories, situated in Old town of chittagong and have a approx distance of 5 Km from chittagong railway station and alongside with the highway.

one of the most beautiful mosque in Chittagong I think..its too much gorgeousNow the work is going on in the construction of the mosque.no mosque can defeat this mosque. 😍 I love this mosque from my childhood. If I was a boy, I used to pray in the mosque. I saw the mosque in peace.Mosque is the symbol of peace. All these boys should pray once in the mosque.

Very historical and famous mosque in Chittagong. It situated in the heart of Chittagong called Chandanpura. Design of this mosque are unique. North side of this mosque another two famous govt. college named Chittagong college and Mohsin college. In the west another famous place "Goni bekary" still remember chittagonian pride "Bela biscuit".
