  Mahimagonj Railway Station is the best platform for going to Gobindogonj upazila under the Gaibandha district. Here is a Sugar Mills also from the ancient period.

  According to sources, the Mahimaganj rail station was established on Lalmonirhat-Shantahar route under Lalmonirhat rail division during the British regime in 1913. It is one of the oldest stations under the division as the tickets to go to Kolkata were sold from the station during the British regime, said Mamtaz Uddin Bepari, an old man of the area. As the Rangpur Sugar Mills Limited was established at Mahimaganj after 1950, the importance of the station enhanced to the people including the officials, the employees and the sugarcane growers of the mills.
