  beautiful place to visit but be careful about transport cost.after reaching this place many CNG drivers will offer u to rent a car with high rate. I was visited here with my friends .they also enjoyed this place. the coconut was good in cheap rate rather than Cox's Bazar.

  Awesome island and only one island with hills in Bangladesh.Maheshkhali Island is the main island of Maheshkhali upozila, in the Cox's Bazar district of Bangladesh. There will two LNG terminals FSRU and gas pipeline created to ease Bangladesh gas shortage.
  
  Maheshkhali is the only hilly island in Bangladesh. Combined with Kutubdia, another island smaller than Maheshkhali forms the constituency known as Cox's Bazar-2 in Bangladesh Parliament. It is an Upazilla (sub-district) under Cox's Bazar District.

  Maheshkhali is an island that is known for his beauty and tranqulity.it's near about 6 km away from Cox'sbazar town.it is an island that covers an area of approximately two hundred and sixty eight kilometers and is blanketed in breathtaking mangroves jungles,spectacular ranges of hill,and striking landscapess,with some hills are standing at just over 300 meters. it is these rare natural qualities that lure visitors to the island.some of the main attractions of Maheshkhali are the picturesque and peaceful beaches. the Shrine of Adinath,which is dedicated to Shiva,the quaint Buddhist temple and the pagoda are also stunning attractions to the visitors on the island.

  Maheshkhali is famous for its betel leaf (পান) . Most of thebetel leaf come from this place and it has lots of historic places.If you are planning for a trip then first you can visit mahesh khali then from there yiu can go to sonadia island .

  Speed boat riding for visiting maheshkhali is just splendid. Two Buddhist temple, hindu temple, mangrove forest and hill are amaze you in Maheshkhali. You can buy handloom product, coconut, dried fish cheaply here. But beware of local rickshaw/van puller. They ask for 3/4 multiple fare.
