The name Kuakata originated from the word 'kua' — the Bengali word for "well" which was dug on the seashore by the early Rakhine settlers in quest of collecting drinking water. They landed on the Kuakata coast in the 18th century after being expelled from Arakan (Myanmar) by the Mughals.
Beautyful place in Kukata. When you finishing the seen sunset then you going to ride a bike may be 500+ vara . They ride you to see many beautyful places in kuakata. You can see easily.
Kuakata came from the Bengali language 'Kua' which means “Well” . It was made on the sea side by the Rakhine settlers for gathering fresh water. Rakhine settlers came here at 18th century after being banished from Arakan now this is Myanmar by the Mughals. Later on, it has become a heritage of digging Well or 'Kua' in the Rakhaine tribes for fresh drinking water.

Kuakata tourist spot has been named according to this KUA (Well). In quest of collecting water Rakhine settlers dug well. Rakhines were ejected from Myanmar and started to dwell here.

The name of the Kuakata has come from here. The Bengali word 'Kua' means Wel. This is the historic Wel. Once upon a time this Wel has been dug to collect drinking water. Presently it's a great tourists attraction.
