Khulna University (Bengali: খুলনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is a public university in Bangladesh.[3] It is situated at Gollamari, Khulna, Bangladesh, by the river Moyur, beside the Khulna-Satkhira highway. The academic programs of Khulna University started on 31 August 1991 with 80 students in four disciplines.[4] Khulna University has 29 disciplines under Eight schools and one institute.[5] It is the only university in Bangladesh where student politics is not allowed. Students passing the Higher Secondary Certificate examination are very much interested in their admission in Khulna University for this politics-free environment. Khulna is an administrative division as well as the third largest metropolitan city in Bangladesh. The Mongla Sea Port, the Shipyard, the Bangladesh Naval Base are in Khulna. Khulna is an industrial city and famous for the Sundarbans.

Khulna University is a public university for area of Khulna Division. There have the bigest space inside this area. There have lot of faculties and academic buildings. Inside have a very big playground where all students are play from 2pm to 6 pm. Most of the time every government holidays, must there have any occasion or celebration. Anybody can join if he are formally gentle.

The only public university in Bangladesh with no teachers and students politics. No session jot. Students are more concern about study curriculum. The KU administration are more concern about to regularize all classes & exams. Small campus so have a strong bondage with all students. The campus covered by green view with full of trees and flowers. Beautiful lake just middle of the campus make it more beautiful. Always neat & clean campus. Lovely campus.

Van gari what is a local traditional vehicle of Bangladesh is the main and only way to go hither and thither at campus area. Its one of the public campus where it is made sure that the environment of the campus will be politics free. Good place for Model photography at this area.

Khulna University was an untiring endeavor and continuous movement of the settlers of this region which was finally materialized in 1987. Education is the basic demand of human beings since the inception of this beautiful earth. The urge and thirst of learning have compelled human beings to set up educational opportunities for the people of their countries. As a part of civilization, Khulna city was neglected and lagging behind other districts of the country in education. The demand to establish a university in Khulna was raised as far back as in the 60s and it was raised once again after the Independence War. On 10 November 1979 in the cabinet meeting, a proposal to establish a technical University at Khulna was passed. Moreover, Bangladesh University Grants Commission submitted a proposal to the Government to set up a new University in Khulna Division in 1983. But progress was slow. Not enough initiative was taken from the authority in establishing a university in the Khulna area. The residents of Khulna city repeatedly pressurized the concerned authority which turned into a movement in 1985. Finally, on 16 December 1986 the Government gave a declaration to set up a University in Khulna. In the context, by a Government decree the Khulna University Project started functioning on 4 January 1987 and in a meeting on 9 March 1989 the foundation stone of the University was laid. Khulna University Bill 1990 was passed in the National Parliament on July 1990. Located at the heart of a large hinterland and because of the strategic geographical position and immensely diverse huge coastal natural resources, Khulna University is a unique place of higher education and research. Every attempt is being made to create Khulna University as a center of excellence in future.

In 1974, the Kudrat-e-Khuda Commission stated the importance of establishing a public university in Khulna Division in its final report. The government finalized the programme of establishing a university at Khulna on 4 January 1987 and eventually the Khulna University Act was passed in the Bangladesh National Parliament in July 1990. Distinctive law named (The Khulna University Act, 1990) passed in the parliament empowers this university. Accordingly, the university started its formal inauguration of academic activities on 25 November 1991. URP is the most prominent discipline in this university.

The academic programs of Khulna University started on 31 August 1991 with only 80 students in four disciplines. Khulna University has 22 disciplines under five schools and one institute. It is the only university in Bangladesh where student politics is not allowed.There is also no session jam which has created a stable facility of study. Students passing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination are very much interested in their admission in Khulna University for this politics-free, session-jam free environment.
