  Janata Bank Ltd. (Bengali: জনতা ব্যাংক লিমিটেড) is a state-owned commercial bank ofBangladesh established in 1971. Its headquarters is situated at Motijheel inDhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It is the second largest commercial bank in Bangladesh.
  Bank Nationalisation Ordinance of 1972 was used to form Janata Bank by merging the assets of United Bank Limited and Union Bank Limited.
