During its establishment, introduced cutting edge process engineering technology for urea production facility. Most of auxiliary units are still techno-mordern for maximum production. Though country's natural gas reserve crisis it can not have optimum feed CH4 and Fuel NG to reach max capacity production consequently over production drop time and process start ups also hampering process equipments. The facility is still named state-of-the-art for UREA production.
I am fortunate to get my undergraduate internship in this process engineering marvel during 2010-11. The locality is magnificently resilient and sometime feels like a lonely left out town in a western desert. Mighty Jamuna is flowing by the area which is main source of water for process and auxiliaries.

I live this place. Its one of the largest Urea fertilizer factory South Asian region having production capacity of 1700MTPD of Urea & 1078 MTPD of Ammonia. Its a charming place. The colony of JFCL is a cool & Calm place. Entry to the factory is prohibited without permission.

এশিয়া মহাদেশের বৃহত্তম সার কারখানা জামালপুর জেলার সরিষাবাড়ী উপজেলার তারাকান্দিতে অবস্হিত । জামালপুর শহর হতে দক্ষিণ দিকে আনুমানিক ৪০ কিলোমিটার দূরে প্রধান সড়কের পাশে এর অবস্হান। সকাল ৯-০০টায় জামালপুর শহর হতে রওয়ানা দিলে ১০-৩০ টার মধ্যে গন্তব্যে পৌঁছা যাবে । ট্রেন বা সড়কপথে যাওয়া যায় । পূর্বানুমতি নিয়ে পর্যটকদের সার উৎপাদন প্রক্রিয়া দেখার সুযোগ রয়েছে । সার কারখানার আধা কিলোমিটারের মধ্যে রয়েছে পোগলদিঘা ইউনিয়নে যমুনা গার্ডেন সিটি বিনোদন কেন্দ্র । এ বিনোদন কেন্দ্রে লোকের সমাগম সবসময় । ইচ্ছে হলে বিনোদন কেন্দ্রটি দেখে আসতে পারে । এছাড়া সরিষাবাড়ীতে কয়েকটি পুরান জুট মিল রয়েছে । আরো আছে সোলার পাওয়ার প্ল্যান্ট,জগন্নাথগঞ্জ ঘাট,যমুনা জেটি ঘাট । এগুলো দেখার পাশাপাশি সরিষাবাড়ীর বিখ্যাত প্যারা মিষ্টি কেনার সুযোগ রয়েছে ।
