  It was the only functioning railway station for Kamarkhanda residents, before inaguration of the new one at Koddar more. Its still functioning and Sirajganj-Dhaka direct train departs from here. All north and south bengal bound passenger trains have stopage at this station for now. After the inauguration of Bongobondhu Bridge, this station became busy, as Sirajganj station was closed. Railway traffic will decline once the Padma bridge opens. Still all north bengal bound trains will have stopage here.

  This railway station is based local people. Nearest Highway bus stop is around​ 5km far. So local people usually use this station as communication hub to travel dhaka(capital of the country) and rajshshi( division). 3G mobile network is available in this area. This station has limited number of ticket(booked seat) for intercity train. Few intercity train stop here. But all other local and mail train is giving service for passengers.

  Small but beautiful station..silkcity (rajshahi to dhaka) stops here for 5 minutes at around 10:15am!
