Under 5 children and pregnant women get treatment here. Normal vaginal delivery possible for the icddrb intervention area women. Cesarean section not possible.
All kind of research is going here, specially vaccine trial like Cholera in 1985, Rotavirus study from 2007 to 2010 , several polio studies, Hepatitis E vaccine study.

Don't bring your severely dehydrated patients to this hospital. They don't give treatment to them. They only give treatment to the ailing child who is suffering from diarrhea popping constantly. Bad experience, waited several hours with no treatment then go for private hospital.

ICDDR,B ( International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh) is a leading health research and medical service provider worldwide. As of it's voluntary and research work, ICDDR,B started operation in Matlab South on a floating barge in 1966. It gave the treatment of Cholera/Diarrhoea victim in primary stage and later on mother care. It started wide operations on own land & hospital building from 1990. This is a dedicated and reliable hospital for this area.
