The biggest and the most busy Airport in Bangladesh. Previously it’s name was Zia International Airport. It’s one of the important Airport in Asia.

The place is highly secured due to covid 19 situation. But they should let the visitors get in cause sometimes there are some emergency issues which can easily overlap covid 19

Since it is the most important airport of Bangladesh the expectation must be high in terms of safety, security. I think the airport needs redesign. Cleanliness and lighting system should be updated and instead of restricting people to come inside train them how to take care the property and how to use the assets.

Shah Jalal International Airport is the largest and main airport in Bangladesh located in Uttara, 11 miles (17 kilometres) from Dhaka city. A relatively new airport, Shah Jalal International was named in honour of Muslim Sufi Shah Jalal.
The airport is a primary air travel gateway into Bangladesh and the hub of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the country’s national airline. Its strategic geographical location makes the airport an ideal transfer point for leisure and business passengers travelling around Bangladesh. Over 4 million international and 1 million domestic passengers as well as 150,000 tons of freight and mail exchange use Shah Jalal International Airport (DAC) on an annual basis. The airport is well equipped with terminal buildings, hangers, sophisticated radar, a freight village (warehouse) and other modern equipment for handling aircraft. Biman Bangladesh Airlines operates to almost all major cities of the world. International carriers serving Bangladesh include Aeroflot, British Airways, Emirates, Gulf Air, Indian Airlines, Kuwait Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines, Royal Nepal Airlines, Saudi Airways, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways. Regional flight services are managed by Aero Bengal Airlines, Air Parabat, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and GMG Airlines. Regular flights are run between Dhaka and several other main cities. They are economical, and most routes are served at least two or three times a week. Shah Jalal Airport has terminal buildings, hangars, technical areas, a freight village (warehouse), and other modern equipment for handling aircraft. It connects almost all the major cities of the world with Bangladesh. From here, Biman Bangladesh goes to 31 cities on 4 continents.
শাহ জালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরটি ঢাকা শহর থেকে ১১ মাইল (১কিলোমিটার) উত্তরায় অবস্থিত বাংলাদেশের বৃহত্তম এবং প্রধান বিমানবন্দর। অপেক্ষাকৃত নতুন বিমানবন্দর, শাহ জালাল আন্তর্জাতিক নামকরণ করা হয়েছিল মুসলিম সুফি শাহ জালালের সম্মানে।
বিমানবন্দরটি বাংলাদেশের প্রাথমিক বিমান ভ্রমণ গেটওয়ে এবং দেশের জাতীয় বিমান সংস্থা বিমান বাংলাদেশ এয়ারলাইন্সের কেন্দ্রস্থল। এর কৌশলগত ভৌগলিক অবস্থান বিমানবন্দরটি বাংলাদেশ ও আশেপাশের ভ্রমণকালে অবসর এবং ব্যবসায়িক যাত্রীদের জন্য একটি আদর্শ স্থানান্তর পয়েন্টে পরিণত করে। ৪ মিলিয়নেরও বেশি আন্তর্জাতিক ও ১ মিলিয়ন দেশীয় যাত্রী পাশাপাশি দেড় লক্ষ টন মালবাহী ও মেল এক্সচেঞ্জ শাহ জালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর (ডিএসি) বার্ষিক ভিত্তিতে ব্যবহার করে। বিমানবন্দরটি বিমান পরিচালনার জন্য টার্মিনাল ভবন, হ্যাঙ্গারস, পরিশীলিত রাডার, একটি ফ্রেইট ভিলেজ (গুদাম) এবং অন্যান্য আধুনিক সরঞ্জামগুলিতে সজ্জিত। বিমান বাংলাদেশ এয়ারলাইনস বিশ্বের প্রায় সব বড় শহরে কাজ করে। আন্তর্জাতিক বিমান পরিবহনকারীদের মধ্যে রয়েছে অ্যারোফ্লট, ব্রিটিশ এয়ারওয়েজ, আমিরাত, গাল্ফ এয়ার, ইন্ডিয়ান এয়ারলাইনস, কুয়েত এয়ারওয়েজ, মালয়েশিয়া এয়ারলাইনস, পাকিস্তান আন্তর্জাতিক বিমান সংস্থা, রয়্যাল নেপাল এয়ারলাইনস, সৌদি এয়ারওয়েজ, সিঙ্গাপুর এয়ারলাইনস এবং থাই এয়ারওয়েজ। আঞ্চলিক বিমান পরিষেবাগুলি এরো বেঙ্গল এয়ারলাইনস, এয়ার পারাবত, বিমান বাংলাদেশ এয়ারলাইনস এবং জিএমজি এয়ারলাইন্স দ্বারা পরিচালিত হয়।ঢাকা এবং অন্যান্য বেশ কয়েকটি প্রধান শহরের মধ্যে নিয়মিত বিমান চালানো হয়। এগুলি অর্থনৈতিক এবং বেশিরভাগ রুট সপ্তাহে কমপক্ষে দুই বা তিনবার পরিবেশন করা হয়। শাহ জালাল বিমানবন্দরে টার্মিনাল ভবন, হ্যাঙ্গারস, প্রযুক্তিগত অঞ্চল, একটি ফ্রেইট ভিলেজ (গুদাম) এবং বিমান পরিচালনার জন্য আধুনিক সরঞ্জাম রয়েছে। এটি বিশ্বের প্রায় সমস্ত বড় শহরকে বাংলাদেশের সাথে সংযুক্ত করে। এখান থেকে বিমান বাংলাদেশ ৪ মহাদেশের ৩১ টি শহরে যায়।response / report this review -

This airport is the main international airport in Bangladesh. It is big airport, situated in Dhaka. It has International and domestic terminal. Huge number of plane are arrive and depart in 24 hours. Very busy airport it is. Outside view also nice. It is just beside the Dhaka-Mymensing highway road.

Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport is the main airport of Bangladesh. Although it is the country's important airport, but it does not developed. The governments of many countries of the world are working to develop their airports. But we still can not be modern.
Infrastructure has not been developed. But the runway is risk-free. Especially another aspect is noticeable, there are many more mosquito breeds. This can damage our reputation.response / report this review -

The Best international airport at Dhaka. It is too old and once upon a best airport in South Asia. Location are good. Communication as not well as required for international airport. Security system average. Inside clean and clear. All the things handle with professional and immigration may have to update more and need lot of counter to smooth service. Some portion have to update up to the mark with sincere and faster. Altogether it is very good airport too.

This is the popular and international airport in Bangladesh. It has all type of facility for national air travelling passenger.
management good and more concerned to solve problem.
We the people like to journey through the air but due to lack of facility like expensiveness and not enough airport in all over the country
Now government trying to develop this section very quickly but but due to lack of management it delayed
What ever still we love journey by air
And also hope this sector will be best way to drive in our country
We also be helpful to our government that government policy making easy
Airport expansion also done by this government
But this is not a easy tusk to do

I like and love our Airport. I have seen lots of improvement over the years. However, still many more improvement required if we compare to others country. I am hopeful that slowly our ppls will take necessary steps to develop. Immigration officers are more active now compare to 10/15 years ago.

Its the place of emotion.Close people leave from here and reunite with family again. It depart our love one and unite again. Though its not state of the art but its the best gateway to visit Dhaka. internal security system and environment should improve more. Need to upgrade the whole system with better monitoring system.

This is the most popular airport of Bangladesh. Actually this is the busiest international airport of Bangladesh. Everything here is very nicely maintained. But I think the announcement system should be more clear. Also toilet is not very hygienic for the outsiders. Departure and arrivals scheduled can’t be known easily. There should be a giant screen there for this.

Poor infact a very poor international airport. In a modern world this airport can't be a major capital city airport. Terminal building is so pathetic. There will be another terminal which will be third terminal of this airport. Financing by JICA. It will be different. Need at least one of this kind asap 😔😔😔

Its an international Airport, Never have i once got them on the phone. The staff are not friendly. The restrooms stink. Villages in other countries have better airports than this. Its good to see subtle initiatives in improving the appearance of the airport, but alas its just on the outside and in no time the true colours will show again.

A comparatively big airport than expected. Decent facilities but lack basic things like Air Conditioning. The Sun is Harsh in the waiting lounges and there are no blinds or shades put up even when the Facade is facing perfect West and East. The interior is heated up and makes it impossible to sit near the with window. Ceiling of some part of the facility looks age old and feels like it can fall anytime..urgent attention is needed.

The airport is located at Kurmitola that is to the north of Dhaka. You can enter here by the eight-lanes. There is a railway station just opposite to the airport named Airport Railway Station. The nearest five star hotels near the airport are the Hotel Le Meridian, Dhaka Regency and Hotel Radisson.
It needs lots of development and also needs to make it more attractive at Architecture & Interior design. This is because an Airport represents the overall identity of a country. It needs to be faster and should provide comfortable services.
There is no Priority line for the disabled persons during boarding pass collection. There should have an assistant with a wheel chair for disabled persons and this service should be free of cost like any other airports of the world.response / report this review -

This airport is ok. I love the original architecture (noting that the extension completed later while following the same design, is built to a much lower quality).
In the late evenings it can get very busy. Prepare for a long wait to even get into the building.

This airport has improved a lot, but still a long way to go. Less options in duty free.
Immigrations takes about 30 to 40 min generally.
Baggage takes time to arrive, but that compensate your immigration waiting time.

This is Only an International Airport at Dhaka. It's not to far from downtown but some communication route are Developing soon from this Airport Station. International & Domestic at same Area. Internal Lounge are changed last 3-4 years & Many Banks, 5 🌟 hotels & Airlines open there's special Lounge Services. Other facilities are also improved & washroom are really good looks.

You are welcome! It's a prime door to enter our loving country Bangladesh from abroad. By using this port you can travel throughout the country & of course international flights are available from here. Private taxi cabs are also available here. Anyway, you have to be very careful regarding outsiders in this place. However Lots of improvements are needed to be implemented to make it passenger friendly. Security must be strengthened to prevent any kind of unwanted situations.

1st International airport in Dhaka but not neat and clean proper way. I haven't seen any seat facility outside for people who come for received their family, relatives or guest. staff's behavior are now become more friendly and helpful but before was rude. Airport inside decoration need to modernize. Arrival and departure schedule update TV screen need to increase for watch properly.

Airport is accessible from City Center by any train/bus. Over crowded most of the time and there's always traffic jam there. No Airport hotels and proper transit system. May take time to get inside the airport because of security checkpoints. The Duty free shops are usually over priced. Lounges are good but waiting area is a bit dirty. Toilets are not upto mark. Besides, Immigration takes a lot time. Overall, its one of the most over crowded and slowest airport in the region.
