  Government Shipping office, is in Agrabad Western side of Sheikh Mujib road. It is very closed to Lucky plaza. This office is surrounded by many well known places I.e. Bangladesh Bank Colony, Mistri para, Ethnological museum, Double mooring, Agrabad bus stop, Badamtoli bus stop, Hotel Saint Martin, Chattagram Maa-O-Shishu hospital etc. This office also known as Marcantile Marine Office (MMD). This office mainly work on signing on and signing off of seamen those serve in ships.

  This is our government shipping office in Bangladesh also known as Mercantile Marine Department MMD office.
  Now the name of shipping master is Zakir Hussain
  Before joining to the Ship all sign on and sign off process are held here.
  If you have to issue a CDC then you have to come here.
  It is situated on the very heart of Chittagong agrabad, and very near to port.
  There are other offices for foreign currency exchange and foreign labour and remittance.
  but Mercantile Marine Department or GSO government shipping office is the most working place and crowded place.
  Nowadays our government is developing online certification.
  after signing off from here you have to endorse your voyage data to online and that is also done here.
