Government Public Library is a large and well decorated library of Mymensingh. It is situated at town hall area near Brahmaputra river. Here collection is good. Reading room environment is not bad. Anyone can read books in this library. There is also a table for female only. Others are common. There is a separate room for newspaper and magazine. It is open from 10:00 AM to 18:00 PM. Library is closed on Thursday and Friday.

এখানে বসে পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন বিষয়ের উপরে লিখিত দুর্লভ ও বিখ্যাত সব বই পড়তে পারবেন। এছাড়াও বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় ও ময়মনসিংহের স্থানীয় সকল দৈনিক, সাপ্তাহিক, মাসিক পত্রিকা পড়া যায়। বৃ্হস্পতি ও শুক্রবার ব্যতিত সপ্তাহের অন্যান্য দিন সকাল নয়টা হতে বিকেল ছয়টা পর্যন্ত খোলা থাকে।
