It"s very crowded station. Alike other stations of BD it does not have My good facilities. But the most famous part of it that the most most famous writer Humayun Ahmed wrote a book in the name of this station. That's how many of us know about this rail station.

Crowded station. No good side walks. No good vehicle stoppage nearby. There are many beggars & Abnormal people. Security isn't good enough. People don't follow the rules.
It became famous for Humayun Ahmed's novel "Gouripur Junction". But the view from the station & doc is nice.

A nice station with fresh environment. Not enough modern facilities.Train to Netrokona, Chittagong,Mymensingh, Dhaka available from here.A novel named after the station was written by famous Bangladeshi writer "Humayun Ahmed" based on the daily life of this station.

little bit of risky place. You have to count your every step. There are beggar and theif waiting for get something from you. The main problem is, This station gives the service of interchanging Train. So everytime this station remains busy. Surrounding place is enriched with trees and ponds. You just need to sit tight and be careful about your things.
