  Bangladesh Road Transport Authority was established under section 2A of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance of 1983 and the subsequent 1987 amendment. It has functioned since January 1988. BRTA is a regulatory body to control, manage and ensure discipline in the road transport sector of Bangladesh, as well as to maintain road safety. It works under the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges to carry out the purposes set out for it under the Motor Vehicle Ordinance.[1]
  
  The Chairman is the chief executive of BRTA. He is in charge of fulfilling the purposes of BRTA as prescribed by the rules and assigned by the government.[2] The total number of circles under the purview of BRTA is 62 (57 district circles and five metro circles).

  Controlling and regulating road transport by executing motor vehicle acts, issuing route permits, and fixing rates and fares of buses and trucks
  Conducting regular activities like: Issuing driving license, fitness certificates, registration certificates and Driving Instructor's licenses
  Registering schools for motoring
  Organizing and conducting workshop seminars for delivering information regarding safe driving and traffic regulations
  Making research and development for developing ideas and methodologies for safe road transport and traffic system[3]

  BRTA Gazipur is at the back side of vawal rajbari. Vawal rajbari is now a govt. Property and used by many govt. Offices. This is a very busy place with less parking facilities. Service is very slow forcing people to take help from dalals by providing speed money. One should go there with much time otherwise your purpose will not be fulfilled. Be careful before providing money to any Dalal.

  This place is a historic residential place.. What is converted into several governmental offices. The rooms are tiny and not pretty much accessible compared to some others. However, they are doing pretty god job in this sector..

  Bangladesh road transport authority gazipur office is in rajbari. The officers are very helpful for people. I was there for a inquary they help us properly. Lot of people goes there for many purpose. They are many service like vehicle registration, learner driving license.

  It's branch of Bangladesh Transport Regulatory Authority in Gazipur. This place is near by Gazipur District Commissioner's (DC) office. Here people can get their license of driving after having written, oral and practical tests.
