Faridpur Sheikh Jamal Stadium inaugurated on Wednesday

Faridpur: The opening of the Faridpur Sheikh Jamal Stadium will be inaugurated on Wednesday afternoon. The organizers of the Faridpur and organizers of Faridpur, who are excited about this, are organizing the event. District Sports Association has organized one match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Sheikh Russell Dhanmondi Club on the occasion of opening ceremony.

Faridpur stadium has not been able to see any match at the stadium in the past one year because of no development in 57 years. The people of this region did not see any match.

In 2011, Gold Cup Football Tournament was held in the presence of Expatriates Welfare Minister Engineer Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain MP Khandakar Nurul Hossain Nur Mia at the stadium. The presence of thousands of people in the gallery surprised thousands of people in the tournament. As there is no place beside the gallery and the ground, numerous visitors take the risk of life and stay in the roofs of various adjacent buildings around trees.

Meanwhile, Nuru Mia goldcaps in the final match, hundreds of people in the roof were in danger due to rain. They were not able to get off the roof of the buildings in any way. Eventually the Fire Service staff took the viewers down from the ceiling.

After seeing the situation, the Minister of Tribal Welfare took charge of the development of the stadium. Later, the development work of the stadium was started by his intervention. After breaking all the old galleries, new work is done with new gallery and field construction. After two years of work, the minister is going to inaugurate the newly built stadium on Wednesday.

The inauguration of the Faridpur stadium in 1956 was inaugurated by CSP AFF Rahman. Then after the Awami League government came to power after the uprising, the name of the stadium changed as well as development. The Faridpur stadium is now the Sheikh Jamal Stadium.

He said that the work of completing 6000 ft of gallery, paved drain, fencing and field filling has been completed recently at a cost of Taka 4 crore. On Aug 22, the remaining 840 foot gallery, VIP box, and more than Tk 540 million in the press box were allocated for the construction. When finished, the whole stadium is ready for international matches. From now on, this stadium is going to be a big tournament for the tournament.
