Historical place of district of Naogaon.
The Dibar Dighi is one of the most famous lakes in Bangladesh. On its shore lie the archeological remains Kaibvarta Stambha. It is a huge pillar that is situated in the north side of the lake. The history of the pillar dates back to the medieval period in Bengal. It is assumed by scholars that the pillar was constructed during the Pala rule. The timeframe of the pillar’s construction has been traced back to the late 11th century. The village where it is situated is assumed to have been named after the Pala king who ordered the erection of this pillar.
