Since I live in Chapai, it is a pride for me. It is an ancient mosque. It is said that it is made by jinns. But I can not tell how true this is. But it is true that there were gold things here. But now it is still extinct.

It is sometimes said that Bangladesh's greatest architectural achievements were in the area of terracotta. Combining fine terracotta decoration with a solid brick structure, topped with multiple domes, Choto Sona mosque is one of this country's lovely old mosques. It is best visited from Rajshahi, whose riverside setting makes it arguably one of the country's nicest towns.

The mosque was built during the reign of Sultan Hussain Shah, between 1493 and 1519. The fifteen domes of the mosque were once gilded, giving the mosque the name of Choto Shona Masjid (Small Golden Mosque).[1] The mosque is one of the best-preserved sultana monuments under protection by the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Governments of Bangladesh. The gilding that gave the building its name does not exist anymore. The mosque premise, which covers an area of 42 m from east to west by 43.5 m from north to south, was originally surrounded by an outer wall (now restored) with a gateway in the middle of the east side.

A place where you can have a peace of mind and can connect to the God Almighty. Very Beautiful place in CHAPAI NAWABGANJ to have peace of mind. The Mosque has some amazing artwork on its walls inside out. The stone artwork created inside/ outside the mosque is also lovely! Chhota Sona Mosque sometimes described as a 'gem of Sultanate architecture'
It was built from 1493-1519.

Built during the era (1493-1519) of Alauddin Hossain Shah, this beautiful mosque is called the Jewel of the Sultani regime. It's design contains granite covered brick made walls. On top of it, the 15 domes of the original structure contained golden layer, now its no more. Birsrestho Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir (a martyr of the Liberation War) rests in peace nearby. Its a must see tourist spot.

I think its a place to visit for its historical importance and also to see its architecture The grave of one of Bangladeshi Heros Bir Srestho Capt. Mohiuddin Jahangir is also at its yeard
It's a bit of a trek on the bus from Rajshahi and buses are infrequent, we caught the 7.40am leaving Rajshahi (not from the main bus station, let your rickshaw driver know where you're going and he'll take you to the correct bus stand), and were ready to return at 3pm but the next bus was the last one at
