New market or biponi bitan is one of the oldest shopping mall in the heat of Chittagong city. Roads are very crowded all the time. If you are good negotiator then this is a good shopping place for you. You can get all kinds of readymade garments, shoes, bags, gold, jewelry, cosmetics, etc . and quality is fairly good.

This is a very old market in Chittagong. The market is called Biponi Bitan but it is commonly known as New Market. There are many shops of good brands of boys clothes in this market. There are many good collections for girls and kids too. Various items including shoes, bags, gold, jewelry, cosmetics are available here. Fairly good quality is available. But I found the price a bit high. If you know how to bargain very well, you can buy good things.

Being a busy area, there is always traffic jam. It is better to be careful when there is a lot of crowd during Eid or any festival.

Local buses or Tempu are available from any part of the city to Newmarket area.

In Rahman time I visited for just checking products and Price range! But here is people visited like mad, very crowded area ever I saw in Chattogram, specially in ramadan month. I just pass way 5 minutes walking distance but I have spent for walking 30 minutes for people crowd. You can amazing who many customers or visitors came. But I feel little bit scary about thief, please be safe otherwise you will face very difficulty.

One of the oldest Shopping Center of Chattogram. It has a huge space for customers to roam around the shops. It has very good number of wide staircases. It is not air Conditioned but has better air flow. Parking is also fine. Probably it has the highest number of gold shops in the city.It is recently reconstructed in a modern structure having parking zone. The mall has a great park with small trees & has food corner inside. Here you can find clothes & shoes for both male & female, jewellery, cosmetics, electronics, melamine commodities, toys etc. in this four storied building.

One of the oldest and best places for shopping. A reliable source of a wide variety of goods like clothes, watches, shoes, bags, cosmetics, phones, household appliances, crockery etc. There is even a nursery here. The market is very spacious. So far I know, this the oldest market in Chittagong. Now we can't compare this market with others market in Chittagong. But still you can get the latest dress for man, woman & kids within reasonable price. Moreover, you have to use the stair because there is no lift & escalator. But the market is neat and clean. I found the temperature always high i don’t anybody notice that or not.

This once the poshest mall of the city has lost it's Glory loong time ago. This premium location can still be converted into something spectacular if the CDA has foresight. This is a property worth 10s of millions of dollars. There is no point wasting it's potential this way. I would say try to get inspired from Singapore or even Newyork...Do Not even think about competing with local malls.Set your goals higher. How about bringing Zara, diesel, apple, Microsoft, Nike, addidus, ck here. A lot of you may argue it's too pricey. Some so called posh stores have been robbing local customers selling heavily discounted low end brand products on unbelievably high prices. These will survive in ctg.

It has first ice cream parlor in Chittagong, this was our main attraction at Biponi Bitan. The designer of this market has great knowledge, because the corridor between two lane of shops is still biggest in the Chittagong. Space for large crowd.
