Carew and company(BD) ltd. Consists three plant. Sugar factory, Distillery plant and Biofertilizer plant. Sugar unit of capacity 1150TCD. New BMRE project is ongoing in sugar unit to modernise the factory. Carew also one of the historical place in darsana, Chuadanga. I've passed 3+ years here.

It is a historical factory for visiting purposes.. A lots of visitors around the country come every year here.
It established in 1934 and one of the first Sugar Mill of Bangladesh.

The carew & company resident area is a wonderful place in Darsana. This place include Officer's colony a beautiful guest house and managing director's resident. It is the largest as well as oldest sugar mill in Bangladesh. This is the second highest sugar and wine producing company in Asia. The area is very big and inside environment is very clean. Organic fertilizer, spirit, wine and sugar is the main products of this factory. They also produce red and white vinegar and pharmaceutical products too. Sugarcane is the main raw material of this factory. Six farm house having it's and there are lots of land which produce sugarcane for itself and this is the own depended factory ever which could run without help or its raw materials for others.

The largest sugar mill in Asia situated at here . Here sugar make from sugarcane. Having its own land to cultivation sugarcane as raw materials and it can sufficient for 3 months run factory. Sugar quality is very good. Rest molasses uses for making spirit and alcohol. Here pharmaceutical and natural fertilisers factory also here. Lot of space with quarter and Banglow make it beautiful. This is my home town too. I love this area very well.

Must visit place in Darshana
As far my knowledge it is the largest sugar mill in Bangladesh . Also it is the oldest sugar mill . There is also a distillery . And the only distillery factory in Bangladesh

Keru and Co is a sugar mill at Darsana. The sugar mill is established on the old course of Bhairab. The mill premises is huge in size. The sugar mill does have important influence to the locality and their activities and culture.

Carew and Company Bangladesh Ltd. is the oldest sugar mill in Bangladesh.

It owns 1074 acres of land and grows sugar canes in a total area of 8,300 acres of farmland.
The target is to press 70,000 to 75,000 metric tons of sugarcane to get 5000 metric tons of sugar.
Currently, farmers are losing interest to grow sugar canes because of its low yield. However, the company itself targets to produce sugar canes across 12,000 acres of land in order to meet their target output.
