  বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শহীদ মিনারের বিপরীত পাশে বুদ্ধিজীবী স্মৃতিস্তম্ভ অবস্থিত। বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধে নিহত বুদ্ধিজীবীদের স্মরণে ভাষ্কর্যটি স্থাপন করা হয়। স্তম্ভটির অবস্থান বুদ্ধিজীবী চত্বর নামে পরিচিত। প্রথিতযশা শিল্পী রশিদ চৌধুরী এর নকশা প্রণয়ন করেন। ১৯৮৫ সালে স্থাপিত এ স্মৃতিস্তম্ভটি এখন চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সৃজনশীল কর্মের সূতিকাগার হিসাবে ভাবা হচ্ছে।
