BIRDEM, the Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders at Shahbag, Dhaka, Bangladesh is a 600-bed multidisciplinary hospital complex of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh. The Hospital was established in 1980 with the financial support of Bangladesh.[1]In BIRDEM 3,000 patients are treated in the outside department every day. It's really a good hospital. Being able to give services like big popular non-government hospitals it’s a bit costly but you would like the overfall clean environment and warm behaviour of the stuffs and doctors.

How to go: You can reach there from any corner of Dhaka city. There is a lot of public transport which go through that way. The hospital is located at Segun Bagicha road. If you arrive at Kodom Foara, then through Topkhana Road you can come. If you come from Paltan, then come through Topkhana Road and just change the side. If you come through Silpakola Academy, just come straight. Better to use the map if you are android friendly.
Facility: i) Pharmacy is just in front of the gate. ii) Car parking is at basement. iii) Ground floor - Information desk, toilet, prayer zone. iv) 1st floor - Outdoor facility and so on. v) 2nd floor - Cafeteria and pathology vi) 3rd floor - Operation theater vii) 4th floor - Child care cabin and ward viii) 5th to top floor - cabin and ward facility for children and female.

Specialised hospital of BIRDEM for the treatment of children and women. Very good place in Dhaka for any hospital. There are some specialists sits here for the treatment of children. Well spaced and large stairs helps the patients to move easily. There are different facilities of diagnosis here in this hospital. Specialists sits outdoors to treat the outside patients.

This hospital is for women's and infants only. You can find good quality doctors those who has diabetic problem. Is expensive here to get health support. I don't find anything special about this hospital and feels like they wants to do business only. Space inside is pretty large but it's not so crowded or I think not so popular among people.
