#ঐতিহাসিক পাহাড়তলী ভেলুয়ার দিঘী।
★★★ খুব সুন্দর একটা দিঘী ★★★
আমির সওদাগর ও ভেলুয়া সুন্দরীর অমর প্রেমের সাক্ষী চট্টগ্রাম শহরের পাহাড়তলী ভেলুয়ার দীঘি।
১৫১৯ খেকে ১৫৩২ সালের ঘটনা। তখন চট্টগ্রামে স্বাধীন সুলতান নসরত শাহ এর শাসন চলছিল। যমুনা তীরের ধনী সওদাগর আমির সাধুর সুন্দরী বধু ভেলুয়াকে চুরি করে কাট্টলীর ভোলা সওদাগর। সাগর নদী পাড়ি দিয়ে বর্তমান ভেলুয়া দীঘির স্থলে ভোলা সওদাগরের বাড়িতে আবিস্কার করে ভেলুয়াকে। যুদ্ধ করে আমির সওদাগর ভেলুয়াকে উদ্ধার করে। ততদিনে স্বামী শোকে মৃত্যু প্রায় ভেলুয়া। স্বামীর কোলে মাথা রেখে চিরবিদায় নেয়। সেই শোকে ভোলাকে খুন করে তার ভিটাতে অমর প্রেমের স্বারক হিসেবে বাদশা নসরত শাহ ভেলুয়া দীঘি খননের নির্দেশ নেয়। সেই দিঘী এখন দখল দুষণের কবলে। আসুন সবাই মিলে পাহাড়তলী রেলওয়ে স্টেশন সংলগ্ন ভেলুয়া দীঘি উদ্ধার ও সংস্কারে সক্রিয় হই। আমির সওদাগর ভেলুয়া সুন্দরীর পুরো কাহিনী না পড়লে চট্টগ্রামের কিংবদন্তি সম্পর্কে জানবেন কি করে?response / report this review -

There is a story behind this Dighi. The legend goes that Bhelua, the charming wife of Chand Shawdagar, a rich businessman living somewhere on the east bank of the Jamuna river, was once abducted to Chittagong by a merchant smitten with her. As punishment, then ruler of Gaud executed the abductor and dug the dighi in place of his house compound in 1519-1533.
Unfortunately the banks are gradually occupied by illegal structures day by day.response / report this review -

historical water storage.it could be place of entertainment park for its natural beauty.but the area surrounding the dighi is dominated by slum dwellers.
