"Bangladesh Sweden Polytechnic Institute is a well-known and reputed educational institution in Bangladesh .
It was established with the help of Sweden govt. in 1963 under Rangamati hill tracts. The area of the campus is about 30.5 acre. The academic program of the institute is controlled and regulated by Bangladesh Technical Education Board. It is under Education Ministry and Directorate of Technical Education. There are six departments in total in this institute.

Departments and Subjects:
The departments include Electrical, mechanical, automobile, civil (wood), construction and computer technology. The last department to inaugurate was construction technology started operation in the year 2006. The seat capacity is about 384 students in each batch.

Facilities Available for the Students:
It has very qualified instructors and technical and administrative staffs. The workshop is well equipped with modern technologies. The laboratories have instruments that provide practical knowledge to the training students. The library contains updated books, journals and research materials. The institute has hostel facility for both male and female students. The names of the hostels are Jahangir Hostel and Swedish Hostel.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility:
The admission test of the aspiring candidates of diploma in engineering is taken by Directorate of Technical Education. The institute admits the students according to their merit position in the admission test taken by DTE.
To participate in the admission test the candidates have to pass in SSC or equivalent examination with minimum GPA 3.50 or more. However, there are some subject wise limitations. The candidates must have GPA 3.00 in general mathematics or higher mathematics.
The students have to apply for the admission test online through the website of Directorate of Technical Education. Before application they have to pay fee of TK. 200 through Teletalk SMS service. The number to which money has to be sent via SMS is 16222. After payment the candidate have to log into the website and submit the form.
The candidates have to be in the admission test hall in time with the admit card and original registration card of SSC examination."

Bangladesh-Sweden Polytechnic Institute(BSPI) aka Swedish is the best Polytechnic Institute in the country, that provides 4 Years diploma engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Automobiles, CSE etc. It has a large academic area with a large hostel facility for students. The campus is well decorated with trees and flowers.
