On 15 August 1975, some disgruntled Army officers carried out the Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. His wife Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, his sons Sheikh Kamal , Sheikh Jamal ,
Sheikh Russel were killed in the attack on their residence.On 12 June 1981, the house was handed over to the surviving family members of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Sheikh Hasina found Sheikh Mujibs diaries in the building after the hanover and which were later published as memoirs.
The house has been transformed into the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum.
Bangabandhu Memorial Trust was handed the house to turn into a museum on 6 September 1994. The trust operates the museum.

A former house of the founder of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangabandhu Memorial Museum commemorates his life and death. A visit to this museum gives you insight into the leader and his family's way of life. Go to the ground-floor guest room and see the abundant collection of family photographs dating back to the 19th century. On a grimmer note, you'll notice bloodstains from Rahman and his son's assassination in 1975 on the stairs and in the bedrooms. Outside, in the memorial garden, reflect at the large monument and view other memorabilia celebrating the history of Bangladesh. House 32, Dhanmondi is the old residence of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Mujibur Rahman who was assassinated with all his family members here in August 1975 and is now converted into a museum is a must see place for anyone visiting Dhaka in Bangladesh. The place has been made up very well and is very well maintained and attracts hundreds of visitors daily. Guides take you around the place which is a three storied building and gives an idea of the simple life that Bangabandhu was used to. The museum preserves memories with good displays and has great sentimental value.It's very clean and tidy and secured area.If you want to know or just love History, I would say it's a must see for you.

I was there. I was there where one of the mightiest leaders of the world lived. I have seen how much cruel human can be. When I stepped in, my first thought was, it's nothing like a museum. It's a home, home of a normal family. Except none of them are here anymore.
If you have time, doesn't matter which side you're on, visit this place, put your hands on the railing of that beautiful balcony and look at the yard. You can feel, Mujib's hands were here.
What else can make you feel more connected with our history!

All is good and well maintained..But I have faced a huge problem.that was lost my and my uncle's ,brothers phone from security room.Where people's submitted his/her phone Security guards are very irresponsible..Then we complained in the office and they are very helpful to found our phone within 24 hours.I am very thankful to these officer
