The founder of Asset Developments & Holdings Ltd, Mr Salim Akhter Khan is an experienced builder and a professional project manager. He has a master’s degree in Business Administration in 1975 from IBA after which he worked with several large organizations. In 1984, when the real estate market was just born in Bangladesh, he started working with a newly formed real-estate company. Then, around 1993, he formed another real-estate company. Soon afterwards, in 1999, Asset Developments & Holdings Ltd was floated. The company started with three buildings, one each in Dhanmondi, Gulshan and Uttara and has been growing ever since. Today, at any given point in time, the company has ongoing construction of around 90 buildings, mainly in Dhaka. It has already completed more than 5000 apartments. Asset Developments & Holdings Ltd has its own head office building at 91 Gulshan Avenue, employing more than 600 professionals like managers, architects, accountants, engineers etc. More than 1000 supervisors, guards, storekeepers, drivers and so on are also on the payroll. Around 5000 construction workers such as masons, painters, tile-layers, plumbers, electricians and carpenters work on the construction sites.
