A group of 32 students and 2 faculty members from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Prime University visited Ashuganj Power Station Company Limited on 25 February 2017 as a part of their field experience programme. Students were visited both 770 MW steam-based thermal power plant and 1125 MW combined-cycle power plant. The day-long industrial tour was jointly organized by the IEEE IUB Student Branch and IEEE IUB Industry Application Society. In this industrial tour to the largest power plant in Bangladesh, students were accompanied by Dr. M. Mostak Ahmed , the Head of the EEE Department. During the visit, students were briefed of the various sections of the power plant, by the power station engineers, which include the generators room, boiler section, cooling section, power organizers and the temperature management room. Students were also visited the transmission control room, load management and monitoring room, generating substations and distribution switch terminals. Apart from the demonstration, a lecture session was also organized for the students on the overall working procedure of this important power plant. Finally, a question and answer session provided good insight into the operations, protocols and machines of this important key point installation of the country. It was a significant opportunity for the students of EEE major to gain practical experience of visiting the largest power plants of Bangladesh and acquire knowledge about the practical applications of their classroom-based study.

It is located near to the Titas Gas field and at the bank of river meghna. It consists of 1627 megawatt units.

Ashuganj Power Station Company Ltd. is a Government owned public limited company and the largest power hub in Bangladesh. This power station plays a significant role in the national economic development by generating more than 15% of total demand for electricity in the country.

I visited here. It's a big power generation company in Bangladesh. Most of the plant is gas based. The station is located beside the famous river. It's control room is well equipped with modern apparatus.

This is one of the biggest & important power plant of Bangladesh. It has 638MW of capacity. It produce energy by using water, gas & coal. Very good place to learn.

This place is one of the major power plants in Bangladesh.

This power plant has a capacity of 638MW.

This is really a Heat Generation Power Plant. They uses the river water to produce steam and thus electricity.

This place is really a good learning place for the students of Electrical and Electronic Engineering & for those also who have interest at such things.
