Majestic red in spring & calming green in monsoon, that's shimul garden. A bliss if nature!!
Easy direction: bondor, sylhet (c.n.g) > tuker bazar bus stand(bus) > shunamgonj bus stand's bridge (c.n.g/motorcycle) > laurgoar bazar (boat) > godara ghat (motorcycle) > Shimul garden!!response / report this review -

This is a place very special in spring when "Simul" flower blooms in the garden. It is huge area about one and half times greater than a football stadium. All the area is adorned by simul tree queued in specific rows. The area is rectangular. Visitors can stroll, walk through the garden even in mid day, because trees provide sufficient shadow. It is much more enjoying to see the large sandy open ground and the beautiful Jadukata river in the dusk and dawn. The flow of the river comes from borderside hilltracts Meghalaya which is very near to the garden. Going to Barikkatilla by crossing the sandy ground is matter of half an hour by walking. There is zero point next to this tilla. So anyone willing to visit the garden, he/she will have chances to have a look to Barikkatilla, Niladri Lake, Jadukata river and the awesome Meghalaya. In the Baroni-Snan (a holy festival of Hindu community) and Urosh of Sharfin ( a festival of sufism named after its central histrical sufi Sharfin), people from both Hindu and Muslim community comes to bathe in the river and to visit the shrine respectively. So visiting the garden in this time is really amazing as the two places are next to garden.

Nice place to visit.But I went there in the autumn,Winter is best for going there.In winter,the garden is sorrounded by red shimul flower which enriched the beauty of the place so much.The Jadukata river also make its beauty double.

১০০ বিঘার বেশি জায়গা জুড়ে সুনামগঞ্জের তাহিরপুরে জাদুকাটা নদীর তীরে এই শিমুল ফুলের বাগান। পাশাপাশি আছে লেবু গাছ। বসন্তের দুপুরে পাপড়ি মেলে থাকা শিমুলের রক্তিম আভা মন রাঙায় তো বটেই, ঘুম ভাঙায় সৌখিন হৃদয়ের। এ যেনো কল্পনার রঙে সাজানো এক শিমুলের প্রান্তর। ওপারে ভারতের মেঘালয় পাহাড়, মাঝে যাদুকাটা নদী আর এপাড়ে শিমুল বন। সব মিলে মিশে গড়ে তুলেছে প্রকৃতির এক অনবদ্য কাব্য। সুনামগঞ্জের তাহিরপুর উপজেলার লাউয়ের গড়। ১৪ বছর আগে ২ হাজার ৪০০ শতক জমিতে শুধুই সৌখিনতার বসে এই শিমুল বাগান গড়ে তোলেন, জয়নাল আবেদীন নামে স্থানীয় এক ধনাঢ্য ব্যবসায়ী। বসন্ত এলে যখন একসাথে দুহাজার গাছে ফুলে ফুলে ভরে ওঠে তখন পর্যটকদের নজর না কেড়ে উপায় কি!

Tourist place
ঢাকা > সুনামগঞ্জ >বারেক টিলা> শিমুল বাগান।
ঢাকা থেকে সায়দাবাদ(শ্যামলী, মামুন বাস) অথবা মহাখালি(এনা) থেকে রাতে বাস ছাড়ে,রাতের গাড়িতে উঠলে সকালেই আপনাকে সুনামগঞ্জ বাস স্টেন্ডে নামায় দিবে সেখান থেকে টমটমে করে নতুন ব্রিজ আসবেন( ভাড়া নিবে ১০ টাকা জনপ্রতি).
সেখান থেকে অবশশই দরদাম করে বাইক ভাড়া করবেন, শধু বারেক টিলা গেলে এক বাইক ভাড়া নিবে ১৮০ থেকে ২০০ টাকা তিনজন যাওয়া যাবে, আর অবশশই বলবেন আমরা বারেক টিলা নৌকা ঘাটে যাব।
তারপর ৫ টাকা দিয়ে(নৌকা) ওই পাড়ে গিয়ে আবার বাইকে করে শিমুল বাগান যাবেন,আসা যাওয়া ভাড়া নিবে ১০০টাকা,
অথবা বারেক টিলা থেকে একবারে বাইক নিয়ে শিমুল বাগান দেখে যাদুকাটা,নিলাদ্রি দেখে আস তে পারেন আসা যাওয়া হাইএস্ট ২৫০ নিবে।
সতর্কতা : যেখানেই যান আগে বাইকের ভাড়া এবং সময় নির্ধারণ করে যাবেন। বাইকে উঠে পরে নতুন কোথা ও গেলে ও ভাড়া ঠিক করে যাবেন ওদের মিষ্টি কথায় ভুলেন না যেন।

শিমুল বাগানে লাল ফুলের আগুন।
১০০বিঘার বেশি জায়গা জুড়ে এই শিমুল বাগান। পাশা পাশি লেবু গাছ ও আছে। এই সময় গেলে গাছে ফুল দেখতে পারবেন। নাটক, সিনেমার শুটিং এর আদর্শ স্পট। সৌভাগ্যক্রমে এইবার টানগুয়ার হাওড় ট্যুরে গিয়ে "বিন্দাসের" দল এই শিমুল বাগানের আবিস্কার করে জনসম্মুখে আনে।অবশ্যই একবার ঘুরে আসবেন।
যেভাবে যাবেনঃ ঢাকা থেকে বাসে সুনামগঞ্জ তারপর সেখান থেকে লোকাল বাইকে। বাইককে বলবেন লাউরের গড় , শিমুলবাগান যাবেন। এটি জাদুকাটা নদীর পাশেই। বারেক্কা টিলা থেকে বাইকে ১৫/২০ মিনিটের পথ। সাইকেল নিয়েও ঘুরে আসতে পারেন এই ভয়ঙ্কর সুন্দর স্থানে।response / report this review
