I visited this clinic several years ago after falling unwell on a flight and simply put they saved my life as I had far more serious condition when I thought I had pulled a muscle in my leg. The care there was very good and I would recommend this clinic to anyone. Also, my mum fell on another holiday here (we are usually lucky people!) and they gave excellent care. Thank you Elcourt, from us both (but especially from me).

Arrived in Barbados on Saturday feeling unwell and suffering some breathing issues, being asthmatic I wanted to see a doctor as soon as possible so on a friends advice and having read reviews on Elcourt Clinic decided to go first thing Sunday morning. I was nervous mainly due to not having been treated in another country before so not knowing what to expect.
After filling in a form and a short wait I was seen by the nurse first before the doctor. She was beyond excellent and made me feel at ease whilst doing all the usual checks and she put me straight on a nebuliser, then I saw the Doctor, she again was excellent and I was prescribed some medication which I got from the pharmacy onsite at Elcourt Clinic . The Doctor told me to go back in a few days if I had any problems. Unfortunately I did have to go back so again saw the nurse and a different Doctor but again the level of service was outstanding and again I came away with more medication which seems like it is working. I cannot recommend the Elcourt Clinic highly enough to everyone needing medical attention when in the area, thank you Elcourt Clinic.

I went to this clinic for an emergency infection while on vacation and they were wonderful. I wanted to wait until I got home, but it was halfway through my vacation and my husband made me go get myself checked out. I'm used to extremely slow and expensive care in the states, and this clinic was fast, courteous, inexpensive (that's with no insurance!!!), and I cannot say enough good things about the staff. I was in and out with a prescription filled in under an hour. Best part was we could walk to it. We were staying at Sapphire beach and it was about a half mile walk. And they gave me a form for insurance and I have travel insurance, so it should be fully covered under my travel insurance. I only wish I could get this kind of care in the states!!!

Over the last 3 years I am not happy at all with the service and especially Dr Martindale. My last experience there was with my husband. He was ill and he visited Dr Martindale and he was given a diagnosis and medication and sent home. After 5 days he was still sick, no better, so he called the clinic and he was advised to return and have another examination by the same Dr Martindale which he did. He was given the same diagnosis and stronger medication and again sent home after being charged again for the second visit (not very nice, he paid already). We he returned home I was very surprised to hear that he was charged a second time. So I called to speak to Dr Martindale I was told she was busy and I left a message, not surprising she never called back. Well after 3 more days of using the stronger medication, my husband still was no better. Again for the third time he called the clinic and again was advised to return, but this time he saw Dr Charles, turned out Dr Martindale's diagnosis was totally wrong. She could have killed my husband. A previous experience we had with the same Dr Martindale, my husband has an abscess which he got removed at the clinic by Dr Martindale, and after the procedure he was not given any antibiotics and of course the abscess returned and he had to return to the clinic to get the second set removed, but this time he saw Dr Charles and he was give antibiotics after the procedure. Dr Martindale does not seem to be a very good doctor. I have advised my husband never to see her again. And I would not bother to mention the experience I personally had last year which almost killed me when I was given the wrong medication (not Dr Martindale this time another doctor same clinic).

Good place to go to get medical care on the South Coast. Experienced staff. Open late. Pharmacy on site.

My wife and I arrived at Elcourt Clinic today without a prior appointment. She was seen quite immediately, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional care she received from Dr. Fallon Goodridge along with the commanding presence of nurse Shirley. Dr. Goodridge's medical expertise was matched only by her incredible bedside manner which conveyed genuine compassion and caring the entire time we were the clinic. We felt we were in excellent hands at the Elcourt - if you are unfortunately enough to require medical care while visiting Barbados, the Elcourt is the place to go.

Good care but very long waits.
