Happy belated birthday to our Legend, Mr. Gordon Greenidge. He began his Test career in 1974 against India at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore &played Tests and One Day Internationals for 17 years for West Indies. Greenidge and Desmond Haynes formed a prolific opening partnership. The pair made 6,482 runs while batting together in partnerships, the highest total for a batting partnership in Test cricket history. Greenidge scored two double centuries against England in the 1984 summer Test series. This series was dubbed the "Blackwash" because West Indies won by a margin of 5–0. Greenidge scored 214 not out in the second innings of the second Test at Lord's in June 1984 and followed up with 223 in the fourth Test at Old Trafford in late July. The 214* was achieved on the fifth and last day of the match as West Indies successfully chased 342 for victory. It remains the highest run chase at Lords.

Happy birthday to our Legend and the greatest fast bowler of all time the late Malcolm Marshall, may he continue to rest in peace. Test bowling average of 20.94 is the best of anyone who has taken 200 or more wickets. He achieved his bowling success despite being, by the standards of other fast bowlers, a short man – he stood at 5 feet 11 inches. Marshall made his Test début in the Second Test at Bangalore on 15 December and came to prominence in 1980, when in the third Test at Old Trafford he accounted for Mike Gatting, Brian Rose and Peter Willey in short order to spark an England collapse, although the match was eventually drawn despite Marshall taking 7–24. In 1988 saw his career-best Test performance of 7–22 at Old Trafford, and he ended the series with 35 wickets in five Tests, at 12.65. He later ended his career in 1991. Happy birthday Maco!

Special greetings to Mr. Otis Gibson as he celebrates his birthday today. Gibson made two Test appearances for the West Indies. In his first outing against England in 1995, he picked up the wickets of Alec Stewart and Darren Gough in the first innings, finishing with figures of 2-81. Gibson was seen primarily as a one-day specialist - "his hard-hitting late middle-order batting was particularly effective in the closing overs of the innings."He played in 15 One Day Internationals, top scoring with 52 against Australia and taking best figures of 5-42 against Sri Lanka. He took another 5 wicket haul against the same opposition and two four-fors, finishing with an impressive bowling average of 18.26. He has coached West Indies, been the England bowling coach and is no the head coach of South Africa.

Special Birthday greetings Sir Everton Weekes. Along with Frank Worrell and Clyde Walcott, he formed what was known as "The Three Ws" of West Indian cricket. Weekes made his Test debut for the West Indies against England at Kensington Oval on 21 January 1948, aged 22 years and 329 days. He also holds the record of the fastest in world to reach 1000 Test runs by achieving the feat in the 12th innings of his career. He has 15 test centuries overall with an average of 58.61 and a high score of 207 vs India. Weekes retired from Test cricket in 1958 due to a persistent thigh injury but continued in first-class cricket until 1964. Following the end of his cricketing career, Weekes received a range of distinctions, including being made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), the Barbados Gold Crown of Merit (GCM) and in 1995 Weekes was made a Knight of the Order of St Michael and St George (KCMG) for his services to cricket.

Happy Birthday Sir Everton, you are a true Legend.
