The Church of the Holy Trinity is located in Dolac Malta, in the Sarajevo municipality of Novo Sarajevo.

Dr. Josip Štadler, the first Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna, was instrumental in the building of the church, which opened on November 12, 1906.

This was a time when Sarajevo was expanding rapidly, with workers from all over the Austro-Hungarian Empire moving to Sarajevo. Most of those who settled here were Catholic and so the Catholic parish of the Holy Trinity was founded in 1902, followed four years later by the construction of the church.

The church was designed by Josip Vancaš, who served as the official architect and advisor to the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna. As such, Vancaš was responsible for designing all of the structures constructed by the Catholic Church during the period of Austro-Hungarian rule.

The historic building of the church of the Holy Trinity in Sarajevo is designated as a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The National Monument consists of the church and movable property consisting of three altar paintings by Oton Iveković, stained glass, three altars, a pulpit, two confessionals, the church pews, the Way of the Cross (fourteen Stations), eleven sculptures, a votive cross (crucifix), a monstrance, a chalice and two ciboria.
