Comfortable, spacious, nice airport with free WiFi. Not so many shops and catering choices, but it's enough for such size of an airport. Plenty of seats around. The newly built airport is an excellent one and can be compared to any international standard airport with all facilities and ample space for relaxing and the ambiance is simply awesome. Recommended to travel at least once.

One of the greatest international airport in terms of infrastructure i have visited till date. You can find exceptional interiors and exterior at the airport.

Also you will fall in love with the airport lounge, also you will find some best food services in the airport.

Also this airport oprate many international airlines & the airport staff and and their behaviour and services are up to mark.

Excellent Airport with decent and helpful staff.

It’s one of the best airports I’ve seen. Very interesting design of the building, a lot of technology, very modern and clean. There are a lot of clothes shops, souvenir shop to buy local products, book shop, several cafes and a wine bar opened also at night. WiFi is available for free with a good quality. Personnel in the airport is polite and helpful. It’s made to make it pleasant to travel, I was really impressed.

Lovely airport, so well organised in all details.

Parking is wide and rushless, there are a lot of London cab taxis there.

Departure and arrival processes arranged very well. You can use portier service for couple of bucks as well.

On your arrival Tourist SIM card could be easily bought on the first floor level. Also you can rent a car there.

While departing I would recommend to wrap up your baggage for 5 Azn, and use self check-in kiosks to save your time.

Border officers are very friendly and positive, which is surprising )

One of the cleanest and most efficiently ran airports I’ve been too. An enjoyable place to visit, it always makes our travels start off relaxing and on time.

An amazing airport, and indeed one of the nicest ones that I have ever visited. The new building is very modern with a taste of historical architecture. There are lots of facilities for the passengers, making it easier to wait for your flight. Some of them are listed here: Cottage like places which offer tea, coffee, or other types of drinks, work space and library, kids play ground, mother and child room, sleeping wombs, and of course, duty free shops. Interestingly the services are provided for free, and you do not pay to use the sleeping womb, for example, in which you can easily lay down and cover yourself completely and take some rest, while being able to charge your cell phone. Or you can read the freely available books in the library, again for free. I am looking forward to visit the place again.

Great airport! Size is just right so no need to walk long for entrance or exit! The toilets are always clean even at midnight. Surprisingly there is a pharmacy machine ready to buy at departure hall if anyone falls sick and need it! Very impressive!

Get ready USD20-40 or Euro 20-40 depends on your nationality for the payment of Visa On Arrival.

One of the best airports to have a layover. Not a lot of food options, but essentially unlimited seating, plenty of outlets, free wifi, and some laydown sleep pods. Very quiet generally and cheap drinks.

This new airport is very beautiful. The architecture is really great.
To get to the city, you need to take a taxi, and it is very the problem starts. Once you go out of the airport, you will be surrounded by taxi drivers who will try to convince to go with them. The prices are very different. Better inform before head about the official taxi company and the prices, so that when you go out of the airport, you go straight to them.

New and modern airport with good infrastructure. It would be better if the airport staffs are trained on how to greet and handle tourists and passengers.

Beautiful new modern airport is only reason it gets any stars from me. They subjected my minor son to a cavity search without allowing a parent present is unacceptable. I was afraid to voice a complaint as I didn't want to spend 3 years in jail. Horrible experience. I open never to return. My next stopover will be anywhere not near this airport.

Ugly staff. I had a connecting flight and just layover at the airport. The staff at X ray screening machine demanded bribe to allow me to take my hand luggage in the connecting aircraft. Later I read in travel forums that Azerbaijan is full of corruption and a place where bribes are demanded openly. A place better avoided to visit.

The immigration officers on arrival were rude and seemed unorganized at first, but it surprisingly went by really fast. The Airport itself looked new and modern. When leaving the country, the officer asked me for a tip which I thought was very unprofessional, it was really awkward.

Their services at the airport match none of the international standards. Parking is like going throug a sheep herd. The beucratic process takes ages, and the personal are deeply unmotivated and more interested in SMS'ing then attending the 200m que. We also had fun paying migration penalty of 800 AZN for a clerical error made by the hotel

The airport looks nice and clean. It is very small and with limited facilities and shopping options. I loved the cocoon shaped stalls around the place though. Immigration going into the country and out was delayed for no obvious reasons.

We had a connecting flight through the Baku airport and when we proceeded to the Transfer area after we landed. There were 3 airport associates just hanging out and chitchating. When we approached they didn't even say hello. Asked us where we were going and then paused and one of them made a call. He was on the phone for about a minute and told us we had to wait about one hour since there were no agents available. At least there were restrooms close by. One of them even offered us to leave our passports with them and come back in an hour to get them. So strange. I would never leave my passport anywhere and never give it to anybody unless it's a family member or a person I trust. We said no and just waited till they had somebody come and do their job. We understand that it was 1:15 am but still. They had the restaurant open at 3:00am but no passport control agent. Nobody smiled and nobody said even hello to us. It's clear nobody is training the personnel there. Or they just don't care. The non smoking restrooms smelled like fresh smoke too.

    Very modern and elegant airport.
Easy flow of process and clear direction
Things might get messy on, 1. Visa on arrival q is long and slow. 2. Check in counter people can cut the line!
After the immigration, the boarding area and duty free are done so beautifully but unfortunately there are no food court or restaurants. the only thing available are cafes which serve tea, coffee and dessert.
Taxi might fool you by charge you extra, so do use Uber safer. Or the bus to the city center.

Zero efficiency, no respect for forming lines and organization, staff let's people cut, crowd, etc. Definitely get here early because you may miss your flight otherwise. Baku is a great city but the airport needs to tighten up organization big time.

WORST AIRPORT PERSONNEL IN THE WORLD! Please don't get fooled by the big fancy architecture. The staff don't have any respect for you and they treat you like cattle. They asked me to undress in a full crowd of people "for security reasons." When I asked to be taken to a private room and investigated by a female officer, the men started yelling at me on top of their voice. I'm a young girl in my 20s and I've been everywhere and never treated like a criminal!

This would be my worst comment that I give to any city. The airport security is so outdated and bad. Staff are rude and uneducated. When your in Baku expect:
    Bad services
    Smelly people
    Pushed around at cashier
No respect for mothers or children
    Uneducated people
    Crazy insane drivers
    Animal abuse in the zoo
People here have no respect for personal space
People here have no respect for queuing
People here have no respect for anything
People here will stare at you if you don't look or smell bad like them
People still smoke indoors and no rules followed everywhere
People are pushy, in a bad way, a homeless women grabbed my hands at the mall entrance, taxi drivers are sketchy and have no respect for rules.
Nearly 1 out of 10 speak barely good English, which is fine, but at least don't be rude about it. We went outside Baku, it was nice for a day, but still, same people.
This country need so much knowledge for its people it's sad, they are uneducated and careless, if they only visit any other country in the world, they would learn about respect. If your here for a holiday, Don't waste your time or money here, it's not worth it at all. Go back.
Never again. I wanted my new year in a country that plays fireworks next to kids, most people were drunk and almost caught fire. It's that bad believe me.
