The island was great. It's a short boat ride from the hotel and has everything that you will need for a very enjoyable day. The kid friendly side has a restaurant and shop with restrooms. The adult exclusive area has a bar with very delicious margaritas. A trail leads out of the adult area down a 10 minute walk to a completely deserted small beach. You could spend the day here and only run into a handful of people. This was a highlight of our trip and a place that should be on everybody's Aruba itinerary.

This place was incredible. It wasn't crowded, the water was perfect and the split between the beaches was so nice. I loved having an adult side. The flamingos were so fun to watch and interact with. I'm already dreaming if when I can go back.

Beautiful beaches. Great cabanas that can be booked for a special day. Bring snorkelling gear with you - snorkelling is great but equipment is expensive in Aruba. pictures is family beach cabanas.

Wonderful private oasis. The beaches are amazing and there is ample amounts of shade to escape the sun when needed. Flamingos are on the adult only portion of the beach, although children are permitted between 9am-10am to see and feed the flamingos. Water taxi to the island runs ever 20 minutes or so.

A miraculous private island with flamingos and man-made lagoon. You can spend all day here forgetting about any of life's problems. There is also an inland restaurant and full amenities.

Island is excellent. There is a family side and adult only side. The new Cabana's are awesome. Reserve those in advance. The water is bay like (no waves). There is a restaurant and multiple bars on the island. Food is solid but there was a major fly problem in January when we were there last. Hard to eat at the restaurant or bar without swarms of flies going after the food.

Just a short breathtaking boat ride from the hotel. Once you get to the island they offer an adult exclusive beach with free roaming flamingos. You can feed them and interact with all the different wildlife. The food on the family side of the beach is amazing! The sights you will see here are amazing and absolutely gorgeous.

This island was the best part of staying at the Renaissance in Aruba! The Flamingo Beach, which was adults only was absolute Paradise. Bar service was great, and there were always loungers available. They didn't play music every afternoon, but we didn't mind listening to the waves roll over the breakwater. The family side had a restaurant and the service was inconsistent, which is why this is only a 4 star. Otherwise, we lived this island. Tons of places to sit and chill, or take advantage of the Cabanas!

The private island is amazing. Not too crowded, and the swimming area is blocked off from the open water with big rocks so it's like an ocean pool. At first I was disappointed to not be swimming in the open ocean with the waves, but after spending time here I came to love the calmer experience of the ocean pool. You get gentle waves, sun, and sand. The restaurant is good, my favorite being the smoothies and the breakfast options.

I love this island but there are some things that need to be fixed. I'll list the good and the bad. I gave the low rating in hopes they fix their shortcomings. Only way to access the island is by boat from the Renaissance hotels, only 6 flamingos inhabit the island.

Good
-beautiful island
-good wifi
-2 bars(reasonably priced)
-great seating options
-separate sides for adults and families
-fitness center
-good food menu
-rental equipment(snorkels, floats, kayaks etc..)
-private areas for rent

Bad
-0 supervision of flamingos. I actually feel bad for these guys, they're chased and not respected by visitors.
-parents bring their children to the adult side.
-the flamingo beach was supposed to be open at 7. We took the first shuttle out here only to realize it was closed until 9. I'm sure they charged whatever filming crew was here an arm and a leg to monopolize this part of the island and didn't kick any of that down to the patrons. There was another special event on Saturday and the island was closed until 10am Sunday for clean up. 0 communication, we are guests of the hotel and should have access to the island for the hours advertised.

Absolutely worth the money if you like a fairly secluded adult only beach and flamingos. Bring snorkel equipment. The nature trail led to a completely secluded beach where the planes fly over you too lame which was really cool

Tons of fun to be had on Marriott's private island. There is an adult side and a family side to enjoy. Service is excellent and watersports equipment is available for rent at reasonable prices. The drinks and food are very pricey, but it's a private island and it is Aruba after all.

In A Nutshell:

-The Renaissance Private Island aka Flamingo Island is place you must visit.
-The benefit of staying at Renaissance is you get complimentary access to this island via boat taxi.
-If you don't stay at the Renaissance, then it will cost you $99 each person to access.
-Once you arrive, you are immediately greeted by the clear baby blue water, the beautiful mangroves and all the wildlife!
-The wildlife consists of their popular Pink Flamingos, which you can feed and take photos with (careful b/c they will bite you, doesn't really hurt though).
-There are also lot's of blue lizards and iguanas (which are very aggressive, they will climb on your beach chairs if you feed them).
-If you look into the water in the mangrove there will be puffer fish and other types of fish swimming around.
-One side of the island is ADULTS-ONLY, which is a benefit.
-I did notice a woman go topless, so if that's your I guess it's allowed here.
-The other side allows KIDS, but you can also rent a paddle board for $25 per hour.

Overall, both sides of the island have their own protected lagoon, where the waters are calm.

Some of the best beaches in Aruba if you like quiet and relaxation. There are two beaches. One is family-friendly. The other is adult-exclusive. The latter may have a few topless sunbathers. The bars and restaurant on the island offer decent food and drink by courteous staff. There is a fitness center. Be sure to check out the flamingos and the iguanas. On Wednesday nights, there is a nice dinner on the beach. Make your reservation for it through your hotel navigator (concierge).

Both beaches were amazing, with crystal clear water protected by breakwater. The adult Flamingo beach was calm with gorgeous flamingos and a bar. The other, more family oriented beach had a more lively atmosphere with a delicious restaurant. Both beaches had responsive staff and delectable drinks.

The staff and amenities here were wonderful. We enjoyed seeing the iguanas and flamingos which were very friendly and easily to see. The beach was clean and a great place to snorkel, with a lot of big fish near the reefs. The food was ok, with small portion sizes, but the staff are very helpful, an especially big shoutout to Maria who was a wonderful waitress.

I've been coming for years and this year I can't figure out why there are so many flies. In peak season there are just too many people to make this a relaxing place to go, but the flamingos make it a fun place year round.
