If arriving from the city, on leaving the station, turn left, then under the subway. Then cross the road and turn right towards the milk bar. (pop in for delicious falafals, rolls and Cornish pasties plus a selection of baklava pastries). Now turn left down Forster St, towards the beach. West eighty one cafe will be on your right, when you reach the esplanade. Cross the road to the beach, then decision time! Turn right towards the swimming & lifesaving club, where you will find The Kiosk cafe with excellent coffee and quality cakes/pastries (shuts around 4pm). There are also toilets and showers behind.
If you instead turn left, pop into Shelly's beach pavilion for a cocktail or coffee, on the deck, overlooking the beach. Next door you will find the Rotunda. Go up the steps for coffee & cakes with a view. -

It has a good museum and they have a good community gathering every weekend which is very nice place for kids.

It's the best place near science works. And I took my children there when they were bored and that was fun there its so so so good
