Went to Calton vicroads to sit my Ps test.
A young female examiner was super friendly and helped me feel less nervous about sitting my test. Even during my test she asked me how i was feeling.
Overall it was a really good experience and I PASSED :)

Some staff are very friendly while others are just plain rude, the reception at ground floor was typing and looking at the screen when she was talking to me. I'm was asked to pay $17 to get my registrations certificate printed out at their desk which is just ridiculous considering the hundreds of dollars I pay them each year. You never have to pay for a bank statement in banks. What makes Vicroad any difference?

I went to VicRoads for my license renewal on a Wednesday @ 12.15pm. I found a carpark easily, was greeted by an employee and given a ticket. I waited less than five minutes and all was taken care of by Emily. That's the second time I've been to Carlton VicRoads and both times the service has been fantastic!
Maybe I was lucky twice judging by other reviews but, my experiences were positive!!

What is happening to our service industry.
It is amazing the incompetence of the VicRoads employees. One can not help but wonder what the selection criteria is.
VicRoads would only deserve a 0 star, however they get 1 star by default.
    Here is the story.
I applied for a license renewal and was told that I needed to come in as they needed to take my picture.
They took a photo which I was not allowed to view when I requested and was told that I would receive my license in the mail within ten working days.
Two weeks on I didn't receive my license, so I decided to call them only to be told that there was an issue with my photo, I didn't need to come in for a photo, but to call them back in a week's time.
I didn't understand why, but I said I would and hung up.
I called a week later and spoke to some rude and unprofessional individual who claims to be a senior officer.
She said that I needed to go in and take another photo and she doesn't know why.
I then asked to speak to her manager she said she finds it offensive that i'd ask for her manager, she would not put me to her manager and said she was a senior officer and she would be happy to provide feedback.
She was neither helpful nor forthcoming.
It is not a month since I had applied for a license and still don't have it.
    I don't even have a clear explanation.
This only indicates that our tax and registration money is waste on these incompetent lot. It seems a complete reform is required here.
I am now forced to escalate the matter to the Government ombudsman which I will tomorrow.
Just a little addition/update now VicRoads is saying that there is an issue with my signature yet they can't explain what the issue would be. They should be ashamed of themselves wasting taxpayer money on service that doesn't exist.

Extremely slow service. I Had a knowledge test appointment at 9:50am . I arrived 20 mins ahead, but still waited for 55 mins for my turn.

Waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. I don't understand the reason of giving appointment time if they are not met and have to wait 30 minutes more.

One unisex toilet for two floors. This is a very busy building and there appears to be big demand for the facilities. When I went to use the bathroom I found it in a pretty awful state and couldn't do what I needed to. I spoke to a member of staff to make her aware. She glared at me like I was asking her to clean it with her own toothbrush. Very rude and sarcastic. Agree with the previous comment that you have a 50% chance of dealing with someone pleasant and helpful.

I went to renew my car registration to Carlton VIC roads and not at all happy with their service. I was told my car is on someone else's name and they charged from me to give those details after waiting for a long time. I went twice to this centre to get those details. Later came to know after going to another Vic roads in Dandenong that it is their mistake entering car registration number in their records. I strongly suggest that few ladies in that centre are only good at answering yes or no rather than thinking of what actually has happened. It is waste of my time going to that place.

    Good customer service
I didn't even have to wait in a queue. All my queries were answered at the door. It saves time. Otherwise you would be waiting for a long time and the result will be that you have to still come back another day with the required documents or something like that.

Came in a few minutes before my scheduled appointment to convert my foreign license to a VIC license. At the exact scheduled time I was called to the counter and greeted by a friendly woman who proceeded to check my documents, do an eye test, and take my photo. I was in and out of there within 10 minutes with my temp. license.
